I can imagine a line of daft women, all dressed up like dog's dinners at a tacky wedding reception and slightly drunk, dancing to this utter shite and making fools of themselves. |

This song was on all of the AM stations, seemed to play at least once an hour on each of them...
Dizzy I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning Like a whirlpool, it never ends And it's you, girl, making it spin You're making me dizzy First time that I saw you, girl, I knew that I just had to make you mine But it's so hard to talk to you with fellas hanging round you all the time I want you for my sweet pet But you keep playing hard to get Going around in circles all the time Dizzy I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning Like a whirlpool, it never ends And it's you, girl, making it spin You're making me dizzy I finally got to talk to you and I told you just exactly how I felt Then I held you close to me and kissed you and my heart began to melt Girl, you've got control of me 'Cause I'm so dizzy I can't see I need to call a doctor for some help Dizzy I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning Like a whirlpool, it never ends And it's you, girl, making it spin You're making me dizzy My head is spinning Like a whirlpool, it never ends And it's you, girl, making it spin You're making me dizzy Oh, I'm so dizzy You're making me dizzy Yeah, I'm so dizzy |

Everything, that Rod Steward did in the 80s. "Young hearts be free tonight!" , with his "Whooo"s and "Let's go, man" makes me sick. I Remember, when i was 13 years, i wondered "What has this old prick have to say to us??????"

Most stuff by Cliff Richard. A lot of his stuff makes me cringe, but the video for Wired for Sound pushes me over the edge. Ugh.

I couldn't take Baby Jane by Rod Stewart because a friend of mine had a girlfriend called Jayne and he kept playing it constantly but I've nothing against Rod and his latest album is actually quite good. Cliff Richard was better in the early days but I have to admit that I loved Wired for Sound although the video for it was a bit ropey(and the first time we'd seen a Walkman system)

Jim Stafffords 1974 hit "Spiders and Snakes" followed by his song "MY Girl Bill".

Rod Stewart is terrible. His popularity has always mystified me. Unfortunately, he persevered, and after many years finally had a hit with Maggie May (an overrated, plodding, repetitive ho-hum number that got played to death). By then he was already considerably older than your average 'break-out' star.
His frog-in-the-throat voice is not something I ever wanted to listen to. Many of his songs are worthless remakes, and despite his having been something of a sex symbol (God only knows), his looks are unremarkable to say the very least... |
