Cheyenne (Jason Robards) to Jill (Claudia Cardinale): "You know, Jill, you remind me of my mother. She was the biggest whore in Alameda and the finest woman that ever lived. Whoever my father was, for an hour or for a month - he must have been a happy man". (Once Upon A Time In The West).

Starbuck to Ahab: "Thou hast outraged, not insulted me, Sir; but for that I ask thee not to beware of Starbuck; thou wouldst but laugh; but let Ahab beware of Ahab; beware of thyself, old man." (Moby Dick).

Iago (to Othello):
O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock
The meat it feeds on.
(Othello)

Finally, I'd like to draw your attention to my signature, which was Einstein's rather playful and tongue-in-cheek response to a very big question.

Regards.

I don't think that's quite right - that exchange is usually quoted as being between Churchill & Liverpool MP Bessie Braddock, although I have seen it attributed to others I tend to go with the Bessie Braddock version for the simple reason that she was spectacularly ugly.

The most famous Lady Astor exchange was;

Lady Astor:
"If you were my husband I'd poison your coffee."
Churchill:
"If you were my wife, I'd drink it."

Default Frank Zappa Quotes

I found Mr. Zappa's quotations interesting, thought provoking and funny.
Here is a list. http://www.positiveatheism.org/hist/quotes/zappa.htm

Perhaps my personal favorite comes from the 'Roxy and Elsewhere' sessions, where he states at the beginning of a song
"Jazz isn't dead - It just smells funny"

Patrick Henry on governmental power:

"If you give too little power today, you may give more tomorrow. But the reverse of the proposition will not hold. If you give too much power today, you cannot retake it tomorrow: For tomorrow will not come for that purpose."

He obviously didn't feel so compelled when it came to extending these same sentiments to the tyranny his slaves must have endured.
