What really disturbs me is that if there are people denying the Holocaust only decades after the fact, when victims and perpetrators are still alive to talk about it, how many more deniers will there be in a couple of hundred years? Human beings as a group seem to have an unfortunate knack for forgetting the lessons of history.

1st, It's not against the rules so I have too say you're quite within your rights to start one... So go ahead and start it.

That's the easy answer and ya have a clear directive there

2nd, and this is just an observation and half personal half mod experience opinion. Those type threads are a major pain in the ass for mods. The main reason, being the internet, at times with certain members and posts, posts can be very easily misunderstood. We have seen controversial topics get out of hand, particularly when none of the mods are logged on too keep an eye out for trouble or trolls. Our main aim here is too keep members coming back and not issue warnings and so forth. As far as the 4 GD mods go, we've actually issued very very few official warnings over the years, and we like too keep it that way.

Like I indicated, we've removed posts in threads that perhaps we should not have and also the other way round, not removed posts we should have, only because as I said, things on here can be taken out of context, and sometimes even members don't type out their posts in a way they perhaps should have too say the same thing.

Depending on what happens , We'll have no hesitation too pull the thread.

So, I suppose it's a go ahead, but be very careful and don't be surprised if the thread either fizzles or disappears due too getting out of hand.

The main point of my post here is simple, we do get trolls here, idiots who just have nothing better to do than be a troll. If anyone feels a member is trolling, disregard their post, don't reply too their post, we'll take it from there.

My family lost people in Belsen which like Dachau was a Concentration camp as opposed to a death camp. The British and American troops who liberated those camps had no sympathy for the guards. How the Russians who liberated the Death Camps must have felt takes some imagination.

It is known Roger. The difference, not much of one I admit, is the Japanese didn't build ovens, poison gas showers, etc. they just shot, beheaded, buried alive, vivisected w/o anesthesia living humans, massacred civilians, etc. The Nuremberg trials get all the publicity but there were also the Tokyo Trials.

They are not really in the same league.
The Moon landing deniers actually do provide lots of evidence and whether we believe them or not it's an interesting conspiracy debate that has gone on for years.

Holocaust deniers are largely apologetic neo-nazi's who offer nothing of any value and deserved to be treated with nothing but sheer utter contempt.
