Here is a thing. My father and I were discussing IS and all these terrorist things and he suddenly came out with "well you know what we should do, bring back the death penalty!" and he also said that for child rapists, murderers and other despicable crimes. Now the problem with this is no government would willingly implement this, it would be political suicide for a PM to do it, let alone the pro and anti life brigades BUT with that sort of deterrent, rather like the nuclear missile(we have it but really don't want to use it unless it is the only solution) surely it would stop people from committing those crimes? Or possibly not, but my question to you is this - should we bring back the death penalty for despicable and heinous crimes as mentioned above and if so in what form? Lethal injection? Hanging? Firing squad? Be interested to know your views.

With regards to IS terrorists though they are totally different they choose to live by a backward evil inbred faith, their own perverted religion allows them to inflict vile tortures in the name of their twisted God so if they are put to death I would not give a flying toss.

Maybe the subject of hanging and the death penalty in general should continue there.

Huge rise in young men who seek help for impotence after watching web porn, charity finds

Doctors have seen a huge increase in cases of men under 40 who say they struggle to perform in bed after watching too much pornography, a charity said today.

The Reward Foundation, which studies sex and the internet, said more young men are seeking help from GPs after real-life experiences fail to meet heightened expectations which become necessary for arousal.

It said analysis of available research suggests porn use is blamed for about a third — 30 to 35 per cent — of impotence diagnoses in men aged 18-40 who seek help from their GP. This compares with between two and five per cent before the huge growth of high-speed streaming sites in the 2000s.

Mary Sharpe, chief executive of the Reward Foundation, said abundant addictive content pumps brains with a “junk food” version of natural sexual reward stimuli.

“Research is showing around even three hours a week of porn use can cause structural brain changes. But it’s only when their sexual function falters that it gets young men’s attention.

“This is causing huge trouble within relationships because you have men who can’t have an erection without porn because they’ve trained their brains to need that level of arousal. They’re acting out porn, or need to look at porn while they’re having sex.

“Some partners might go along with this a little bit but a lot of them don’t, or feel inadequate. No human being can provide the same level of artificial stimulation pornography can.

“Expectations are completely unrealistic of what girls want and what they’re willing to do.”

Liquid water 'lake' revealed on Mars

Researchers have found evidence of an existing body of liquid water on Mars.

What they believe to be a lake sits under the planet's south polar ice cap, and is about 20km (12 miles) across.

Previous research found possible signs of intermittent liquid water flowing on the martian surface, but this is the first sign of a persistent body of water on the planet in the present day.

Lake beds like those explored by Nasa's Curiosity rover show water was present on the surface of Mars in the past.

However, the planet's climate has since cooled due to its thin atmosphere, leaving most of its water locked up in ice.

The result is exciting because scientists have long searched for signs of present-day liquid water on Mars, but these have come up empty or yielded ambiguous findings. It will also interest those studying the possibilities for life beyond Earth - though it does not yet raise the stakes in the search for biology.

The discovery was made using Marsis, a radar instrument on board the European Space Agency's (Esa) Mars Express orbiter.

Noticed in this morning's paper The Times,(and to be honest I'd already guessed from the picture of a sheepskin coat used) that the ex-BBC commentator and all-round nice guy John Motson aka Motty has been signed up to do a year of Premier League matches with TalkSPORT but whilst I don't begrudge him going to pastures new some might take umbrage that he has gone to the bitter rivals of the BBC-Alan Green is frequently slagging them off and to be honest their commentary is pretty awful as our their commentatators. It remains to be seen whether it improves TalkSPORT's ratings or not.
