Bigfoot County (2012)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2108605/

Another found footage film as yet another documentary team inspired by the famous 1950's film clip set out in search of the elusive monster in Siskiyou County where Bigfoot is known to regularly appear. Lots of unfriendly small town locals never mind any large angry furry menaces

aka The Bigfoot Tapes bugger now I know that I have seen it before and it's not going to be what I expected

Black Roses (1988)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094752/

Parents in a small American town are up in arms about a proposed rock concert and then effect on their children, if only they knew that rock music was the least of their worries as Damien and his band are real demons

The Black Water Vampire
www.imdb.com/title/tt2853182/

Another amateur documentary crew are looking into the history of the Black Water murders, every 10 years on the winter solstice a woman is murdered, each one has a bite mark. A local guy is on death row for the crimes but they are convinced he is not the killer so what do you do? You go out on the winter solstice to investigate of course
The title is a bit of a give away but it's an Ok sort of film with the ending you probably didn't expect

The Unholy

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096340/

Father Michael is appointed pastor of St Agnes church after surviving a fall. Closed for three years following the mysterious deaths of his predecessors, he attempts to find out why he has become the 'Chosen One' while resisting a powerful demon who takes the form of a beautiful woman.

The Unholy Trailer

Great and underrated B movie from the late 80s featuring a fantastic cast (Ben Cross, Hal Holbrook, Trevor Howard, William Russ & Ned Beatty).
It wasn't a huge success when it came out during spring of 1988 and might be too much compared to a rip-off of The Exorcist, which it surely isn't.

A great bluray has recently been released from Vestron and it's worth a good watch, let me tell you.

Default For Your Eyes Only (1981)

I fancied watching something daft. I was very saddened by the passing of Roger Moore, although I never liked him as Bond, I read his autobiography and he seemed a thoroughly decent sort, self-deprecating and with no illusions about his acting ability, but that his career allowed him the sort of life he wanted, of good meals and fine cigars, and he was clearly very sincere in his efforts for UNICEF.

This movie was at a time when Bond had gone pretty much fully into 'spinal tap' territory, with some of it so ridiculous that even my suspension of disbelief took a battering - the innumerable scenes of Roger Moore's stuntman skiing, performing flips and dextrous twists of which Mr Moore is quite patently incapable, then a quick cut to a close-up of Roger removing the ski goggles and looking around (with a rotoscoped background in a nice warm studio), then goggles back on, and cut back to the wide shot of Roj's stunt man on the mountain again.

This also causes problems when we are expected to believe that Roger's good-living middle aged suntanned salary-man Bond has 20 year old females throwing themselves at him on sight. There's a pretty funny scene of Bond in a carriage with the French lovely being all surly pouting bond girl, and Roger is restraining her, and the italian driver mutters 'Ah, amore' or some such, when clearly what he'd actually be thinking is 'why do I have to get stuck with this foreign girl bickering with her father?'.

But it's kinda fun on a dull sunday afternoon to have on in the background while I research something online. Also, point of trivia: I believe it is because of this movie that Pierce Brosnan became Bond. Brosnan's then wife played a Bond girl, and producer Cubby Brocolli saw Brosnan on set.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol2. Maybe I've got early onset senility, but apart from it being a turgid, over long overblown mess, I didn't understand what the fcuk was going on. I mean why was Sylvester Stallone even in it.
And ah fuck off! fer fuckssake!...if I have to sit through another fuckin' stupid Stan Lee cameo, I swear I won't be held responsible!

Young and Wild ( 2012 )
This was a good Film with some great Spanish Acting - and I am glad I took the time to watch it .
Daniela (Alicia Rodriguez), a 17-year old Chilean teenager who enjoys experimenting with sex more than her evangelical upbringing would allow. She has documented her findings to an online blog and has an array of followers, many of them just horny teens of both sexes looking to share or seek a taste of what she might be offering if the mood arises. When she is kicked out of school for having sex in the bathroom, her devout mum gives her a final chance to shape up before sending her towards a life of even stricter religious fulfillment. Her new job at a TV station brings with it a whole new set of temptations though, but ultimately turns out to be an enlightened path to understanding the place of sex in her life and in this world.
Young & Wild surprised me , as I was expecting just another nudity-filled romp , and it actually had a back-story to it .

Monsieur Klein (1976)

Trailer

Robert Klein (Alain Delon) leads a cozy life as an art dealer in Nazi-occupied Paris. He exploits the misery of the Jews who are forced to sell their art in order to raise enough money for their departure. When a local Jewish newspaper is delivered to his home, a disturbed Klein decides to visit its office and clarify the misunderstanding because he was obviously mixed up with a namesake who is Jewish. But he is told that the list of subscribers is currently held by the authorities and that they're going to erase the mistake as soon as the list is returned. Terrified of the eventual consequences, Klein goes to the police to report the problem but raises more suspicion instead. Not long after that the pro-Nazi police begins to investigate him and he's given fifteen days to find his own and his parents' and grandparents' birth certificates to prove that he's not of Jewish origin.

Beautifully photographed and told, this kafkaesque thriller may very well be Joseph Losey's greatest film. The usually pompous Alain Delon becomes a tragical figure and a victim of his own over-confidence by playing detective. Monsieur Klein is one of the best films I have seen in the last couple of months.

GOOD TIME

I definitely had a good time watching Good Time but the characters in the film are definitely not having a good time in this crazy mix of drama and humor.
After a bank robbery gone wrong, Constantine "Connie" Nikas (Robert Pattinson) desperately tries to raise $10,000 in bail money to free his mentally handicapped brother Nick Nikas(Ben Safdie).

This was an odd but highly watchable film.Directors Ben Safdie & Josh Safdie capture that 3 A.M semi quiet that New York City drifts to,as we travel down dark streets and hospital corridors with Connie.
This is all coupled with a pulsating score by Oneohtrix Point Never.
Pattinson is definitely a revelation in this one.Completely immersing himself in the role.
Jennifer Jason Leigh is great as his sugar mama lover.Taliah Webster as a young girl he uses.Ben Safdie who cast himself as Nikas also fully commits to his role.
Buddy Duress is absolutely terrific as another mixed up lost soul.Last but not least
Barkhad Abdi as a security guard who gets pulled into the drama.

At times the film reminded me of Buffalo 66 and i wondered if Pattinson decided to mimic Vincent Gallo
The film loses some of it's pace towards it's ending, other than that this was one of the most insane, involving and entertaining films i have ever had the pleasure of watching.

Scale of 1-10 a 9

WIND RIVER

Director & writer Taylor Sheridan hit's another one out of the park in this story about loss and murder
on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming.
I actually went in not knowing who the writer or director was,but i should have known when i found myself immediately becoming attached to the characters, and involved in their stories.

Jeremy Renner is great as Cory Lambert a Fish & Wildlife hunter who becomes a hunter of men.Definitely got a Clint Eastwood vibe from him,as he displays some wonderful moments of heartbreak, toughness and humor.
Elizabeth Olsen as FBI agent Jane Banner isnt given that much of a back story but she's quite good as a person
that shows passion and determination, and her own vulnerabilities.Gil Birmingham is great as Martin Hanson who is tough but also lost in his grief.Graham Greene is great as Ben a local reservation officer.

This is another moving, and involving story from Sheridan.I was engaged the whole time and just when i thought i had everything figured out the movie makes a complete U turn.
I felt the grief of the characters ,the distance and harsh conditions of Wyoming.
Beautifully shot and one of the best movies of the year.

Scale of 1-10 a 9

The Only Living Boy in New York

This story of secrets, love and seduction in New York City had such a great start and i found myself relating to the main character Thomas Webb.
The story of Thomas a recent college graduate who seeks the guidance of an eccentric neighbor as his life is upended by his father's mistress is interesting enough.
It's a movie that's frustrating to watch because it loses it's way and had so much promise.
Part Woody Allen sex comedy and heavy drama that's well acted by all involved but just fails as the story stumbles into something that doesnt ring true.

Scale of 1-10 a 5
