Musk, as far as billionaires go, at least he seems closer to the average person than most of them, he does put his money into research and products that help humans and the world, Space X, Tesla and so on.

Well, Musk said it about himself, but Musk said a lot of stuff that it turns out is not actually true. I think the latest one was that Tesla will start its robotaxi service this year. Was originally supposed to be 2019, so 5 years late, and I doubt it will actually happen. Owners are supposed to be able to send their car out to work as a taxi when they are not using it, fully driving itself.

So to be clear I'm not saying such a place would be a good idea, in fact we know it's a very bad idea e.g. Kiwifarms and 8chan. I'm just saying that Musk is a pants-on-fire liar.

He's a hype man. Gets other people to invest by creating a cult of personality around himself. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. For every Space X, there is a Boring Company.

Which reminds me, Tesla has just recalled every Cybertruck they have sold to fix a problem where the accelerator can get jammed down. The workmanship of the fixes is looking questionable too.

Meanwhile people are getting their warranties voided for washing their trucks. The manual says not to wash it in "direct sunlight", and water ingress is destroying the batteries. This is after Musk earlier claimed that the Cybertruck would be waterproof and usable as a boat on lakes and even calm seas.
