Thanks, I will have a look for that icon now. Later on I realised that noscripts must be working - I can't access my subscribed threads anymore (not a big prob, but will have to try and tweak that) and when I went onto another forum a big dialogue box came up to tell me about a script that was trying to work. So that's good - feel a bit safer now. I also added Easy DragToGo recommended in post #11 - that works fine and makes downloading pics quite a bit quicker in the absence of an add on like Imagehost Grabber or Imagegrabber. Regarding the latter two, I had another go last night looking for icons, drop downs, pop ups etc for both of the two latter - also went into the options for both add ons and tried to make likely-seeming adjustments. For example, under General in the Imagehost Grabber options set up, the 'Show the Imagehost Grabber menu in the tool menu' is ticked - but there is no such menu showing under the main Tools drop down list.

Don't know what's going on
I turned my laptop on this morning and there was noscripts menu bar across the bottom of the screen (not the top left) which told me how many scripts were being blocked- there was an options button that let me see that things like Livejasmin were blocked. Then I noticed that DownThemAll was now listed under Tools. I had added that one a couple of weeks ago, but it was another one that would not work. This morning I was able to use it to download whole page-fulls of images on VEF. It worked by right-clicking pretty much in the way that I expected something like that would and I spend a few happy hours hoovering up images like never before. Tonight, I turned the laptop on and both add ons seem to have been switched off again. There is noscripts menu bar and no DownThemAll in the Tools drop down. It's like something has been switched off somewhere, but I have no idea what or where or why. All I did was turn the laptop off in the usual way without making any alterations to any of the settings. I am running Firefox 3.6.1.5 on this - I thought it was supposed to be pretty stable.

At last!
That's kind of what I did, although I only got rid of a couple. Last night I went onto the Firefox help page and looked for stuff about problems with extensions and I found a few - it's not such an uncommon problem. There were no easy fixes but one person said that they had uninstalled Firefox completely and started again. I didn't fancy going that far but it did make me start to think about uninstalling things, so I went and uninstalled Imagehost Grabber and Imagegrabber and that seems to have done the trick. As soon as I did that noscripts and DownThemAll appeared again and started working. And I've turned the laptop on and off several times since and they are still there and are still working. It must have been one of those two add-ons was causing some kind of incompatibility issue. Weird. Fingers crossed that has done the trick. DownThemAll is working great, really fast - I've DL'd at least 5000 old bondage pics from a site I found a few weeks ago. Gonna sort 'em out a bit and then post 'em over in the Vintage Bondage thread. Thanks for all the help and suggestions

Does anyone know of an alternative to the Multi Links add-on?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...n/multi-links/ There is a good description at Mozilla but basically it allows a person to outline a number of links on the screen and act on them (open them in tabs, bookmark them, download, etc.). It worked very well in FF5 but seems to disrupt page loading in FF6 ... Any ideas will be appreciated, e.d. Update: I just found the Snap Links Plus add-on but it seems to make FF6 very slow. I'll keep looking. Last edited by electile disfunction; September 17th, 2011 at 04:37 AM.. |

Hi!
I have a little problem with firefox 6.0.2 (whit no extensions), when I try to load a post with links to a thumbnail host (Imagevenue, Imagebam, etc.. It happens with all), firefox stops working and didn't load nothing. If I restart firefox it works fine till I try to load thumbnails again. I reinstalled firefox and the problem is still there. The strange thing is that with IE everything works fine... so I think the problem is just with firefox. Any help? Thanks in advance! |

Are you trying to upload your pics (using FF6) to a host server, or, are you trying to download a web page (into FF6) that has someone elses's thumbnail pictures already posted on it? I hope that is clear, e.d. |
