Its worth pointing out while its been released there are reviews which speak of bugs still to be fixed within 2/3 weeks...I've been using the RC version with no issues till today when that youtube issue with the white screen of death appeared which is a flash issue...
Firefox 4 now available By Paula Rooney | March 22, 2011, 7:09am PDT "The team plans to ship out a quick fix patch code named “Anteater” within the next two weeks if necessary. Then, a “Macaw” update is expected two to three weeks from today that will incorporate other fixes discovered during the first month of use." source http://www.zdnet.com/blog/open-sourc...available/8542 Just the fact that 3 out of 10 add-0ns as yet have not been tested for compatibility says to me they've issued it half baked A couple of weeks after the RC version was released Doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me if the idea of alpha/beta/RC testing is to end up with a fully working version thats ready to go Last edited by buttsie; March 23rd, 2011 at 08:14 PM.. |

NEWS
Mozilla's Web o' Wonder https://demos.mozilla.org/en-US/#runfield will help to show if your graphics card drivers are out of date for the browser's hardware acceleration. GPU hardware acceleration is the short-term Holy Grail for modern browsers because it allows them to leverage high-powered graphics cards to give the browser an edge in rendering complicated in-site graphics faster. The current stable release of Chrome 10 only offers partial hardware acceleration, while Internet Explorer 9 won't work on Windows XP precisely because of the hardware acceleration hang-up. source http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/desktop-...date-40092167/ |

The fanboys are posting yes and no reviews like this one
http://www.pcworld.com/businesscente...firefox_5.html As to the truth...imagehostgrabber is incompatible due to the security upgrades about the only downside from my point of view...guess how many times it crashes over the next few days will tell the tale 4. It Sports 1000 Improvements It's actually more than 1000 improvements and performance enhancements that have been included in Firefox 5. They may not all be huge, noticeable user-interface changes, but they definitely make the software better. The Android version of Firefox 5, meanwhile, includes a raft of bug fixes, improved page load speeds--especially on 3G networks--and added IPv6 support.you give with one hand and take with the other |

Curious given IHG 1.6.5.4 on its add-on page says - Not available for Firefox 5.0
Works with Firefox 1.5 - 4.0.* source https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ehost-grabber/ When i checked using the compatibility add-on the only extension brought up that wouldnt work and indeed was disabled was IHG which I only downloaded a week ago. When you try and install the add-on it simply stops with an error message incompatible |
