Pimp and Host went completely off-line for several hours late in the day on July 28, 2015.
It is back in operation on July 29, but uploads and downloads are very slow. Most thumbnails appear, but attempts to retrieve full images often time-out. Their "Forum" site offers no explaination. |

Still some odd-ball stuff going on at pimpandhost. Uploads work normally, and thumbs also load well, but download of full images is slow, and/or times-out.
Also, on August 2 & 3 log-in using IE and/or Chrome has been strange. After putting in User ID and Password and hitting the "log-in" button, both browsers return the white screen of death stating that the site cannot be connected. Refreshing the page does nothing. If I do the log-in sequence and also tick the "Remember Me" box, (a) when I press "log-in" I still get the white screen of death, but . . . (b) when I back shift to get to the P&H log-in, my account is presented as if a normal log-in has occurred. I'm getting no security notifications from Trend-Micro or Windows Defender, so suspect that P&H is having an episode of some kind. Last edited by highwayman274; August 3rd, 2015 at 04:28 PM.. I don't know if it's just me or not but today ImageBam pictures are taking an age to show up in the posts.

Iīm having some minor problems when uploading sets to Imgbox.
Suddenly, almost everytime I try, they seem to be losing pics in the upload. Today I tried with a set of 108 pics, and both times 2-5 pics were left out,not banned though. I started using adblock a couple of weeks ago,can it have something to do with that,or is it just Imgbox that is out of tune. I use Firefox, and have the latest update installed. Anyone have a clue,or suggestions on what to do? I see some guys have started using Someimg instead, and it looks like its the same company that admin. the sites,so maybe all their clout goes into SI instead? Help would be much appreciated,as always. |

I use imagebam as my primary pic host as for the last 8 years it is head and shoulders above any other pic host in terms of longevity and stability. Yes; it's been slow rendering thumbs for a day or so. Upload speed is variable I use imagebox as my secondary pic host, when imagebam bans pix. Just the other day, it dropped an image from a large upload But it was a rare occurrence If you took a poll of the complaints and answers in this thread The theme would be: All pic hosts have bad days or weeks.

I refuse to believe that there are that many images containing errors, but I do believe that imgbox is undergoing some type of underlying problem which has begun to emerge. A few days ago I reported the problem to them but I'm not sure if they received it. I would suggest that others who also use imgbox report the problem to them. I have found in the past that they are pretty good in acting upon reported problems in a timely manner.

I can sometimes head off to my kitchen to grab a refreshment and the pics will just be finishing to load up by the time I get back! Since us peons carry no weight, has anyone with some clout here at VEF contacted ImageBam to find out what is going on?

I have observed that the problem of several or more images not loading due to so-called image errors typically occurs with sets containing 30 or more images, and possibly images greater than 800KB. What convinces me that the images do not contain so-called errors and that the problem is due to some type of imgbox glitch is that when re-uploading the entire set a second time the previous images which did not upload will now upload -- but who wants to go through that hassle and aggravation each time! My recommendation is still for imgbox users to contact and complain to imgbox ... the more complaints that they receive the faster that they will address and remedy the problem.
