Wenger announces he wont retire

His timing was bizarre - on April Fools day

Maybe hes really retiring and going into comedy

True, but he didn't say that he won't retire as manager of Arsenal.

This still leaves him the option of negotiating a move to a 'Director of Football' position there with a new person coming in as manager / head coach. It also leaves the option of leaving Arsenal completely and taking a role with another club.

Even with the absence of Henderson and Lallana we still played really well and need to keep doing that against the likes of Bournemouth and West Brom etc. I have noticed the absence also of Mario Grujic-has he gone or has he been so badly injured that he has been out for months like Danny Ings? Roll on Wednesday and Bournemouth-we REALLY owe them.
What's the latest on Sadio Mane's injury? I woke up after the game was over and didn't see how he got hurt until after the second game.

Meanwhile I see the Arsenal fans' Civil War has dragged in the USA.

The Bilic in campaign appears to be gathering more momentum than the Bilic out one.

Are we trying to out Okey Cokey the Gooners?

What's with the Palace fans with the flares and flash bangs at Stamford Bridge? I thought all of that stuff had been banned several years ago. I was watching the game and heard those bangs and didn't know what had happened.

Trouble is you start reading progs and stuff and time flies....

From an article about "Failed Transfers" .....

End of the 1987-88 season, as Fergie prepared for holiday, he spoke to Paul Gascoigne.
"Go on your holidays Mr Ferguson, I'll see you at Manchester United when I sign" Ferguson recalled Gazza saying. So he went on his holidays and in the middle of them his Chairman phoned saying Gazza had signed for Spurs.
"Spurs bought a house for his parents in the North East, and that swung it", said Fergie.

Cheap at the price when you think about it.
But what a team Gazza could have grown into....

Tonight's PL games look quite interesting. Man U need to beat Everton to get back in touch of a top 4 finish. Everton need to win to keep alive any hope of finishing better than 7th.

Elsewhere, Burnley, Leicester & Watford all have home matches against beatable teams. Those that do win will virtually guarantee PL survival.

Sunderland are in panic territory. In theory they could still pull off an escape reminiscent of Leicester's two seasons ago, but in reality a defeat tonight at the Foxes will be the final nail in their coffin.

Some years back, Pep G expressed his admiration for Wenger and his philosophy in a way which clearly said 'I'd like to work with him'. When he left Barca, Arsenal should have invited him to have a rest and then take over as first team coach when he was ready, making AW Director of Football. AW's massive ego massaged and a more capable manager appointed.
Instead? No title, no sign of a trophy, still not even remotely close to the CL title which AW desperately craves, Spurs and Chelsea overtaking the Gooners and talk of him 'rebuilding' yet again has started. I suspect patience may soon run out.

Another year of Wenger for the Gooners, but from June 2018 Diego Simeone will be the new man in charge, when he quits A. Madrid.

Arsenal most hope Wenger takes a move to the boardroom or just walks away, if he does neither I believe they will show him the door.
