Filefactory .EXE extension
Every Filefactory file I see has a .EXE extension after the .WMV and it says the file is coming from storebox1.info. Anyone know anything about this? The files do not look safe to me.

Apparently one has to uncheck the Download with FileFactory's download manager box when downloading from FileFactory.

It seems like all of the typical filehosters have these "Download Managers", anymore... and they are all (malware) scams. They do not assist in getting your file downloaded any faster or easier than if you didn't use them.
When you go to download a file, pay attention to the file download name and if the file extension is ".exe" cancel the download and look for an obscure check-mark on the download page asking to download without the "Download Manager". Those of you using Win 7 will probably need to into the "Control Panel" / "Folder Options" / "View" and un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types". Otherwise, you may not be able to see that you are downloading an "executable file". |

I can understand why folks get freaked out when they all of a sudden find out that they've inadvertently started downloading an exe file when they were expecting bare titties and butts. I did too. But since I've used FF for several years now, and have more files stored there than I care to mention, I downloaded that exe file to examine it. Not a single thing came up within my virus program, 2 malware prevention programs, nor Windows 7 defender. It's a standalone, one use only exe file, that's neither a "manager", nor accelerator, that FF, as several other filehosts have done, been added to their download pages for the sole purpose of getting money from the weasels that created this thing. This thing isn't a virus, or malware. It is however a waste of time. As with virtually any file host you run across, there's 3 levels of downloading. As an anonymous user, a free member, and as a premium member. It's not a bad idea to become a member of any file host that you're trying to download from, because the perks of not being anonymous, pays off in less wait times, faster downloads, and open download slots, when they're trying to drum up more business. If you're leery of giving your email address to some file host, then go and make up an extra one at Yahoo or something to use. Sure......being a premium member is best for the fastest speed on any filehost, but just having an account, helps alot in more than one way |

Filefactory is a good host, it's just that this download manager thing is selected by default. Once you've unchecked the box the file you want downloads without any problem. Can someone please post some screen shots of the download manager screen thingy and the box that has to be unchecked?
As a premium member I don't get that screen or the .exe file everyone is talking about.

The file factory screens are the easiest by some margin unless you dont read
EDIT - or are using a browser thats out of date IE7 doesnt show up box at all http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...9&postcount=42 No deception except they opt you into using it if you dont untick the box directly under the download button which appears after the countdown is over Free user phase - click link/download button , countdown , untick box , select download Last edited by buttsie; November 15th, 2013 at 09:16 PM..
