Stress and Anger
Stress and Anger What do you do too relieve stress and or anger ? One of my workmates was telling me last night when his wife's kids, who are not his blood get him angry, he goes out into his tool shed and smashes away with a hammer on a log used for chopping wood, said he feels better instantly. I thought that was a bit weird, but the more I thought about it, better he take that much anger out on a log than the kids who are not his. He asked me what I do as he's seen me at work when I should be angry, but all I do is laugh it all off. So I told him, that's what I usually do but if it's bad enough too get real angry, I'll A, Analyze and try to understand, and if that don't work B, Forgetaboutit Who else throws hammers ?

I go for answer B..
I use to throw hammers and other things. But all it does is cost me money to repair the anger; scare the family too. But I stopped that about 10 years ago. I'm now using the Internet to vent. And I find VEF a good place to cool off, looking at ladies and reading member topics seem to relive my days stress. Maybe a couple of shots could do the same??

I have never been aggressive, so I never smash things when I'm pissed but I do also not forget about it so soon. When I come home, I take my guitar or listen to some crazy free jazz that cures me very fast. It doesn't happen often that I'm angry because I try to avoid it with humour. A good spontaneous laugh is still the best way to get along with life, at least for me.

Back when Grand Theft Auto 3 was released in 2001, I used it as my anger management therapy. I'd come home from a particularly bad day at work, my boss was a truly evil b*tch, load up GTA3, equip the 3 foot double dildo as my weapon, and wander the streets of the game beating people to death with it. It was a great release, and I still use the premise today, when needed. Load up a game and go on a rampage.

I have a short fuse but I'm pretty good at bottling it up.
When customers give me a hard time I remember my motto which is, "keep smiling and taking the money." I've only betrayed my feelings to them once in sixteen years but that nearly cost us our largest account. I'd been struggling with training injuries and was taking something that interfered with my metabolism. It turned me into a psycho and Mrs S was scared. She made put my stuff down the toilet while she watched to make sure. After a few days it was as if a fog had lifted and I was myself once more. Never again. These days I find going for a run somewhere green helps my mood. When those β-endorphins flood my brain, I'm happy. One thing I won't do if I'm in a bad mood is drink. If something upsets me mid-pissup, I'll stop boozing. It's either that or I become..

I used to take my Grandma's old stick and whack it on a cardboard box when the dial-up Internet failed to connect or disconnected me right in the middle of something-I stopped however when I discovered one night I missed the box and put several dents in my only attic wall! I tend to shout at my machine when it locks up on me for no reason or the browser disappears but it seems odd to do so because it is mechanical not human. I rarely get angry at people except when I am nearly cut up when crossing the road or some stupid woman parks in front of me as I am about to cross-forget being a gentleman, I go for the jugular. One thing that annoys me intensely is why women won't stop to let you cross-if a woman is there they stop, if a man isn't accompanied by kids or a wife then they speed right past!

Depends on my mood and who it is that's bothering me. I have a lot of patience for children. I have little to no patience for rude/pushy/self-centred people.
When I'm really upset I have to do something physical. Generally that's hit the free weights. However, smashing something into something else will work if there are no weights around. If I'm only slightly angry then a string of profanity or just yelling, even if it's under my breath will work. If I'm in a good mood I can shrug off almost anything. |
