That means that about 10'000 generations ago, we (all the humans living on Earth today), for sure, had the same common ancesters.
That's really really recent.
I remember seeing a documentary several years back that they could trace all people of jewish/hebrew heritage to 13 women. For the life of me I can't remember how far back they said it was. Still, that they could trace millions of people's lineage back to that small a number of ancestors is something that I found astonishing.

I came across an article recently that they found hominid fossils in Southeast Europe, that predate the African ones by 200,000 years.

Gawd! Picky picky picky(or should that be piggy piggy piggy ) I just added it for a useless but if trivia, I didn't research it nor Google it, and I can't remember where I heard it anyway, just something I remembered-no need to be a pig in a poke about it sounds like you ate something dodgy and the pink floyd pig was an inflatable

And the Pink Floyd one actually flew away on one occasion-when the tether broke....made the news.

Before he became better known as a TV and later film tough guy, Craig Fairbrass was a dancer on Top of the Pops in 1982 ( I spotted him several times in re runs on BBC Four recently)
He also married former Page Three girl Elke Kellick.

Others on Top of the Pops were former page three girl and actress Susie Silvey(dancer in audience). Julie Evans(dancer, page three and magazine model), Grant Santino, the current disco dance world champion in 1981 popped up occasionally, Mick Hucknall, singer with Simply Red (dancer in audience) and bizarrely one year before his group Culture Club appeared on Top of the Pops, Boy George can be seen bopping about in the audience. Actress Erica Lynley was also a dancer with either Zoo or Legs and Co.

One of main dancers Julie Brown, who was also on children's show Crackerjack, went over to America and reinvented herself as 'Downtown' Julie Brown. For one show only Garth Crooks, who then played for Tottenham Hotspur football club(80s) co-presented with Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell.
