A History Of The Short And Curlies
So much debate has been made over pubic hair that I decided tonight to dig a little deeper into the history of all the likes, dislikes, styles and functions of pubic hair....and, admittedly, I was a little bored All I've seen so far is debate on the more modern trends but never any further back than the introduction of porn. I couldn't help but think of all the classical paintings I've seen, mostly all of which displayed women completely hairless other than the head. I started my research here. Good old Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pubic_hair I haven't read through it all yet but it goes much further than basic biological function, including art, culture and style. At the bottom of the page I found a link to a book "The Naked Woman"written by British Anthropologist Desmond Morris. For those curious about the why, when and how, its an interesting read. The link provided after Morris's name takes you directly to his segment on pubic hair on the female body including some historical accounts of famous people in history and their views (page194). Page 198 tells much about the removal of pubic hair from the ancient Egyptians to the Victorian era of Europe. Desmond Morris's book link http://books.google.com/books?id=Wa9...20hair&f=false Hope you enjoy the read |
