The only one I can think of is Kirsty MacColl who I think wrote some
brilliant songs, she was of course the very talented daughter of the songwriter performer... Ewan MacColl.
I think the key is not "talent." It's hunger.
Barry Gibb, the main creative force of the Bee Gees, has said that a couple of his children are "just as talented as I ever was. But they lack the drive, the overwhelming hunger than me and my brothers had."

The kids of millionaire musicians have multiple options...certainly a LOT more options than their parents ever did.

I`m sure they`ve all thought about it long and hard.

Especially when old pop is at the top of the stairs

JS Bach - his sons Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach became important composers in their own right and several of his other children became significant musicians.

I think the fact that you have to go back 300 years to give an example of a successful musical progeny just further strengthens my original point.

I forked out for the Beatles box set, the stereo one. Well worth it. I have all their LPs on vinyl, but my car doesn't have a turntable I'm not too sure about the first couple of CDs, but the rest are good IMO.

I seem to remember it was secretly funded by some recording group so about 90% of the output were records released by them, many of the hot , happening songs did nt get a look in.

The BBC were useless being controlled by unions and "needle time "

It was Radio Caroline that finally opened things up playing fabulous hot pop records 24/7
RL had a weekly program that played all Capitol Records new releases, but they did have some variants in the way of programs, some of which were a far better option than the beeb.

Radio Caroline began broadcasting sometime around Easter/Witsun 64, so prior to that it was either the BBC Monopoly or RL.

I bought the originals, the re-releases to save the originals and some time towards the end of the 90's and the start of the naughties, I bought the lot, Singles, EP's and album box sets on vinyl and CD.

I am not sure why I bought the vinyl box sets as they never get played, looked at occasionaly and dusted off and put away for another day.

I admit to being a vinyl freak. But I do buy CDs. I quiet often buy both formats. And I surf ebay for records all the time. I picked up a few great bargains, but most sellers these days know what a record is worth. But you do sometimes get people who just want rid of their vinyl because they need space or haven't got a turntable-or the missus insists
