I've got 4 gig of DDR3. It'll take 4 more if need be. My first Win7 laptop had 8 gig of DDR2. (This one's a bit faster.)
Late last night I finally heard the fan go on, and then I realized that I was running Pale Moon - I had closed the Fox a couple of hours earlier. (The 2 browsers are set up to look nearly identical.) Memory usage had crept up to 400K +. Six of one, a half-dozen of the other?
