Man, I wish MrInbetween was still around. He understood Firefox much better than I. But, I do know that extensions will increase the amount of RAM that both Firefox and Pale Moon use. So always try and keep those to as few as possible.

However, I don't hear the fan pumping air, either.
Sounds like that 15% difference is making a difference. Don't know if you've ever mentioned your configuration, but if you're running Win 7 you should have at least 4 GB RAM in your machine. That will help a lot.

I'm running 8 GB on Win 7 and never have a memory problem.

I've got 4 gig of DDR3. It'll take 4 more if need be. My first Win7 laptop had 8 gig of DDR2. (This one's a bit faster.)

Late last night I finally heard the fan go on, and then I realized that I was running Pale Moon - I had closed the Fox a couple of hours earlier. (The 2 browsers are set up to look nearly identical.) Memory usage had crept up to 400K +.

Six of one, a half-dozen of the other?

Mozilla browsers have had a memory leak problem for ages.
