I froze today

It was about 14, maybe, where I live just out of Melbournes outer northern fringes, But it felt like, I dunno, Maybe 8

Brrr. My "favourite" temp. from a Chicago Feb/Mar afternoon was -40 (that's incl. wind chill). Can't remember but probably only -16 or something, pre-wind chill.

Probably gets even colder in places like Yakutsk. Note to winebeavis: also Antarctica, at times.

When my folks last came home to Ireland we were in shorts a T shirts. My uncle said he was really cold, my mum lit the fire

freaking hell I was soaking in sweat.

In Yakutsk it can be colder, it's true. -50C is nothing unusual, even -60C is not unknown, but less frequent. Luckily, there's not much wind

Australia seems to get Death Valley temperatures in some places, like +50 or worse. People who live there must be well-adapted, imho

So I asked "Are you paying?" (I suffer from pecuniary strangulation)

And he said "No, you are"
