Do consider pixelmator - its just like photoshop for a fraction of the price with all the benefits.

Just wanted to add Photoshop requires a monthly subscription nowadays.

This is why I'll forever stay with CS6 which was the last upgrade you could use in perp.

I don't know what system you're on, but I'd say give it a try to Photoscape and The Gimp.

Both are free.
Photoscape is more or less basic but pretty good and more than enough for most users.
The Gimp is a lot better than Photoscape.

Just try them and keep the one that's more comfortable to you.
