Shared more than a few PM's with Don from around the time he first started 'colourising' in our forum and one surprise phone call I will never forget.

Quite possibly the most altruistic individual I've encountered and in an age when the nature of the word is lost. A very intelligent, yet caring man.

I hate to add a negative vibe to what's been a wonderful thread of members showing their appreciation & enjoyment of demsal8's work... But I find myself ever so slightly angry & disappointed that there have only been these few comments & posts so far; considering how many individual members requests he managed to fulfill in his time here.

It leaves me wondering just what you have to do for some people to take the trouble to spend just a minute of their own seemingly valuable time in making a post of their own?

Years ago, in my arrogance and ignorance, I associated 'colourising' with the abominations carried out by Corporate bodies on public domain films... mainly Laurel and Hardy and the Marx Bros.

I saw Demsal8 references over the years , and skipped the posts, thinking they were the same..... (Actually been here since 2009}

Only about a year ago did I accidently open a post regarding D....

It staggered me, because there was sympathy and understanding in the textures he used, the filters on the pictures. On a higher level than the early 20th Century colourised pictures.

Genius level I realised when I began to use "Search" and discovered his amazing ability, his generosity and his honesty when things didn't go as he wanted.

At the back of my mind, I'd wanted to PM him with... basically, the sentiments of this pathetic post.

Arrogance and Ignorance blinded me from seeing his skill and ability for years. When I did eventually 'discover' him... all I ever thought was - WOW

WOW

For those who knew him, I'm pleased he is Remembered and Honoured.

For me, I regret never knowing him, nor thanking him nor praising him.

May he be Forever In Peace for the Joy he bought to his friends.
