Well even let you sit in lobbies with Third World immigrants for hours waiting for medical treatment. Believe me, it is not a lot of fun living on a paltry pension that increases well short of price increases.

I started betting on football games in desperation.

I'm talking about the graves and memorials to World War I soldiers.

I grew up in Manchester in the Sixties. We had Ian Brady and Myra Hindley to worry about but our mams and dads still let us play out.

In the Seventies young women of my generation in Manchester and across the North had the Yorkshire Ripper to worry about but they still went to discos and pubs and had a good time. Life went on and we realised the dangers were there but vanishingly unlikely to happen to us.

Many millennials seem afraid of a sparrowfart and if it's a male sparrow they consider it sexual harassment and an insult to their gender identity.

I regularly pass a railway bridge where me and my mates used to hang upside down over the tracks by our legs. Breaking our necks or being scalded by steam locomotives meant nothing as our only fear was our mums finding out. We did shit that only the Royal Marines and Parachute Regiment would do now so when I hear about kids not being able to play conkers because it is too dangerous........mind you, as there is no usb port on a conker.

I had to read my schoolbooks and do my homework while milking the cows. There was no lights in the barn and pa would whup my ass for draining expensive flashlight batteries so I had to use a candle lantern. Kerosene was dear back then too. It was so cold sometimes in winter the milk would freeze before it hit the pail after coming out of the cow. I used to take pails of little frozen milk BBs up to the bulk tank on them days.

I was told to have a nice day the other day and was offended all to hell that they might think I would even consider doing what they told me.

August! We only had 9 months, none in "summer" and were happy we had those!
