This is a rare example of a film where I wish they had made a sequel. Very early on, after the first clash between Acheron and HMS Surprise, Jack Aubrey comments pensively on the fact that the French captain was clearly lying in wait for him, five weeks after he last touched land, and Doctor Maturin comments on the presence of French spies in Britain and Ireland and British spies in Europe. It's the only clear hint of Doctor Maturin's secret life I noticed in the film; I wonder if it was an opening the producers left unexploited in case of a possible sequel.

Am trying my best but this horror is lamer than a knee capped tiny Tim. It`s been on for 36 minutes so far and there`s been several murders already. The two worst being the one where a man more or less jumped into a coffin and let himself be buried alive , and the second where a total idiot actually walks into a noose. Only he didn`t so much as accidentally turn round and walk into it, as turn round and place it around his neck.

Hey it could happen to anybody right

Yes this is one of those horror films where the deaths are ludicrous , while the scenes padded out by people simply repeating what was just said to them.

" We have to find a phone and call for help "

" Yes Ken is right , we have to find a phone and call for help "

Etc etc etc .

The nine or so survivors know that the ghost town they`re in is evil , and that several of their party have been killed.

So given it`s a bright sunny morning have they started walking away from the town and to the highway .

Of course not

Instead they have split up into handy butcher sized groups and gone looking for a phone , never bothering to question why this long forgotten hundred year old town would have a phone in the first place.

Man another thing about this film is the flashbacks .

They`re so cack handed and jarring

Gee one bright spark has just wondered whether it was a smart move for them to have all split up .

To emphasis this epiphany the thunderous background music has now reached an even higher tempo

The zombie cowboys are rubbish as well , with their superimposed cheapo digital effect face changes and speeded up side to side vibrating head movements, that had been done to death fifteen years back .

No it`s no good

I quit this shit

Have been suffering through this for forty minutes , and i`ll stay with it only for as long as it takes me to type the post.

Which is why i`m typing faster than a sum bitch hyped up on speed who`s just driven off a cliff

What can i say about this bitter sweet comedy

Well it ain`t sweet and hasn`t made me even smile once , and i am quite bitter about that

The story such as it is concerns forlorn lost love , or some such bullshit. Will the guy get the girl , and does the girl want to let him etc. Only the main problem is the guy in question looks like he`s just come out of a concentration camp after spending a decade in solitary confinement .

Look it`s nothing personal Mr Stiller . It`s just the only characters you can play are either jumpy nerdy ones who at the back of their minds know they`re in a film , or pompous jokey bullies who at the back of their minds know they`re in a film.

In this you decide to go for broke and portray a man who`s recovering from a mental break down. Which you do by sighing a lot , turning your head away a lot , complaining about everything but in a really dull way and generally behaving like the most uninteresting uninterested boring bastard on earth .

So naturally the lead actress finds him totally fascinating

Yaaaay my posts just about finished

I`mmmmmmmmmm outta there

Pathfinders: in the company of Strangers

Omg, this is terrible

When I obtained the movie, it had an IMDB rating of 7,2. When I started watching it two days later, I had to re-check that I had read correctly because it was so bad - it had already dropped to 5.1

One hour into the movie, it had dropped to 4.2

Not recommended

Heat

Sometimes overrated because it finally featured two giants at the same time. Nothing unseen before but still a fun movie to watch.

Just finished watching this and surprise, I liked it not as twee as the original. The hero Perseus played by sam Worthington(?) is somewhat wooden but Ralph Fiennes makes up for it with His scenery chewing Hades.

Have missed a fair bit of this to be honest , which since Quentin (I never met an idea i didn`t like , to steal) Tarantino is listed in the acting credits is probably a good thing. Looks a very glossy very bloody very unbelievable modern day style samurai western.

Shit i typed too soon as Quent just wheeled into the scene as a 90 year old stroke victim, he`s under a lot of prosthetics thank god . Man alive but if there`s ever been a worst actor on the screen in the last thousand years i`ve yet to see him. Oh no it`s just gone to a flashback scene now where Tara is just his abnormal bare faced self. So i`ve turned it off. Damn film was in English yet subtitled too , which got on my tits anyway.

Think i`ll just watch the end of Battle for the Damned on movies4men2
