You have an unusually big interest in the topic, E.
I voted yes, of course. Homosexuals should enjoy the same legal right to marry like heterosexuals, although I don't understand why they cling to a very heterosexual, traditionalist and outdated institution like marriage. I know a few straight couples who have been together for more than 30 years and never felt the need to get married. But I support every idea of LGBT people enjoying equal rights which includes marriage. However, I understand if the Church refuses to recognize gay marriage just like the Church should understand that an educated and modern society rejects its outdated views. |

I umm, kind of wanted to keep the Oz thread on topic so started this one.
But The whole issue has me steamed Both the left and right parties have turned it into a lets win votes issue, nothing more or less. That's what I hate, truly sickening how each of our leaders has backflipped on previous opinions of not long ago. My heart says to vote no but logic says vote yes. Heart only says no because I truly don't understand being gay. Head says that they are human and should be treated with dignity, so I'll go with my head, plus it's costing way too much even now, might as well get the inevitable over and done with.

No scientific evidence explains homosexuality, except defects in DNA that cause people to be attracted to the wrong gender. DNA defects also cause vulnerability to cancer etc etc. Should anyone express "pride" in this?
Not to spoil anyone's fun. but you know... |

The trouble when you destroy standards is...anything goes. Obamas era of force feeding America 2 hairy men as husband and wife gave us Trump. For when anything goes...anything goes...even Trump as prez.
When you have society that says a man with a penis is a woman, then that trickles down to many other areas. That is why our peaches can have no fuzz on them, be useless for eating and still be called a peach! Standards get destroyed and people don't give a damn about anything any more. |

Gay people should be allowed to get married if they wish. Surely all we want is for everyone to be treated equally?
Before gay marriage was legalised in the UK gay people could get a 'civil partnership'. However, this only applied to gay people and straight people were/are debarred from legal civil partnerships. This is patently unfair. Not all Christian churches discriminate against gay people, some openly welcome them. Gay marriage and homosexuality is completed forbidden in Islam. |

I just don't really care as long as they keep public displays of affection in public with in bounds . I also want the same from heteros. To overt signs of affection in public is IMO bad for very young children. Just keep it responsible.
Plus as is stated often let them share the same rewards () in divorce as the rest of us. |

I'll vote yes for one reason:
I believe gay people have just as much right to get fucked over in a divorce as straight people.
