In my thread Before the Internet we explore how folks got by for porn before the web. But then the web arrived and we never looked back, except with nostalgia. But what about the first few times you got on the internet. What did you search for and what did you find?

My main interest is spanking so I remember I searched simply "spanking" and was amazed at what I found. That was way back in the early nineties so there was far, far less than nowadays, but there was still some fascinating stuff, especially stories.

There were nice pictures too of course but the resolution was poor and they took a long time to download.

However, I was doing this on a borrowed computer that I had to return. I just assumed that all record of my browsing disappeared when I turned off the machine. Of course now we know better. I have often wondered what the girl I borrowed the computer from must have thought if she had a look at my history.

I don't remember my first searches, probably "porn" or "porn stars". I do remember the first web site I joined back then, Snail's Archive. For the time he had quite a bit on his site. I probably still have some images on an old computer in the back of my closet that got hit by a virus. I've never done anything with it, just kept it because of the hard drive.

I also don't remember the very first searches I did but I do remember that at some point early on I found some website that you could rent DVD's from. It was very similar to Netflix but for porn. I joined that site and started renting some videos (early 2000's). It was easier than trying to find videos from the local video stores...lol. Not long after that I found a few websites that had porn you could download but the video quality was very low compared to the DVD's and most of those sites had short video samples, not full scenes. The first website I remember joining for internet downloads of full porn scenes was videobox.com (I'm fairly sure that's what it was called). They had a very large amount of porn downloads available for an inexpensive monthly fee. That one was still online a few years ago.

Although I don’t recall exactly what the first terms were that I typed into a search engine in order to find erotic stimulation, they are sure to have related to women’s bottoms. Yes, I have a one-track mind. Of course, ‘Bottoms’ is not an ideal search term in itself. I may have added ‘Bums’ and ‘Buttocks’. Later I learnt to add ‘Butt’ and ‘Ass’ to include American sites. I also learnt to specify women!

Despite taking to word-processing fairly early, I was a latecomer to the internet, not getting online until early this century. My old PC, good enough for word-processing, was not up to ‘surfing the web’. Having tried the internet at work a few times, I had to resort to a High Street internet café to pursue more personal researches – though very inexplicit ones, given the public setting. Even if my neighbour wasn’t looking at my screen, I had the idea that the management might be monitoring the customers. The thought of public denunciation as a pervert was naturally inhibiting, so I approached my erotic obsessions in a slightly roundabout way via clothing – and I do genuinely relish the sight of shapely buttocks tightly clothed.

‘Tight jeans’ was therefore one of my first supplementary search terms, and I know some of what I found, because I swiftly downloaded a few pictures for prolonged perusal at home, and I still have them. They were from a site called Hamster:-





Then I tried ‘Jodhpurs’ and quickly discovered ‘Jodhpur Fetish’ – an appealing website that whetted my appetite for much more:-



On my second or third visit, I discovered 'Touch Your Toes,' the website of ‘Uncle D – The Canadian Ass Man’. Frankly, I didn’t admire his taste in fashion or music, but his taste in women’s bums struck me as excellent. It still does:-

In the late 1990s all the good porn was locked up in pay sites. I remember surfing for it was a frustrating experience because I kept on getting nailed with spam and viruses. I'd be little head-thinking and click on a link such as, FREE PORN HERE, and get hit with a hundred self-replicating pop-ups! Yipes! Thank god those days are over!

I knew of the Internet in the late '90s, but did not have it where I lived until 2000-01, which enabled me to confidentially browse adult-oriented websites. I found out from a certain model/exotic dancer agency in Columbus, OH in 2000 that you could "see girls on the Web", and by summer 2000, I investigated adult entertainment in Cincinnati. I saw that there were companies that provided exotic dancers here, even though strip clubs are not allowed to operate in most of the metro area due to sexual prudery.

I also noticed that there were all these women making money off their looks and sexuality in different ways, even though the job description varies: amateur, model, escort, pornstar, dancer, courtesan. I did not collect porn back then, but considered my options for real action with girls I knew from the Internet.

Unfortunately, it would have cost me anywhere from $350 to $2000+ to get what I wanted from some of these girls. I was a college student with very little money and no job due to the economic slowdown after 2000, and usually had only $200 of spending money all year, plus I was struggling to be in even average shape, as compared to the hot girls and beefcake model / male dancers at these websites. Even if I had the money, I had been raised in a high school culture where you had to be "buff" to date anyone, in the days of 90210 and arrogant Abercrombie-wearing football jocks (this is before Ashton Kutcher made it tolerable).

After graduation, I survived hospitalization and multiple layoffs, then my college cut aid after the Great Recession hit in 2008. I am getting myself back in shape, and my financial situation has improved somewhat. So to motivate myself, I collect as much free porn as I want, toward the day when I won't need it, but can instead have hot girls in real life. I know many younger Millennial girls now, there is a new breastaurant that has opened about fifteen minutes from where I live, and I'm going to have the confidence of a cock rock band in a gentlemen's club when I get with these girls...

I know what you mean, AmateurEmale, I went to high school in the 1980s when all the girls had Chippendales dancers taped up in their lockers and Sylvester Stallone had them all slobbering. Back then I weighed about 108 pounds soaking wet!

^^^I had an embarrassing experience at work one time. It was during work hours one day and I was in my office on the office computer. I apparently entered the wrong website address and a porn site came up that I'd never seen before. Pop ups then popped up all over the screen and I couldn't get some of them to close so I turned the computer off then back on. However, I knew that our IT department would be coming around for weekly computer maintenance and would most likely check browser histories so I called them and told them exactly what happened. They just laughed and told me not to worry about it They told me they wouldn't report it to my supervisor under those circumstances. I was very relieved because my employer had recently sent out a memo saying they were adding much tougher disciplinary procedures for viewing porn on work computers!

My first access to the internet was at school, so not surprisingly every boy would try and find something that wasn't blocked. Most of it was, but there were one or two sites who's frontpage you could view. Not that there was much point of course, being in a room of 30 or so. Wasn't until we got the internet at home that such delights could be found. No sooner was the house empty then the computer was on and finding various gallery sites of images. Videos were pointless with dial up, so it was all images. Still got the old magazines out now and then for a nice bit of toss-talgia.

Usenet groups were the first with material on the net at least. Lots of good material scanned in the late 80s and early 90s started appearing on usenet. The resolution was very low (640x480) as graphics cards of that era were not powerful but the quality/content of the material was very high. Some of the BBS scans were appearing on usenet as well and during its very early days the feeds were free of junk. spam and viruses. The only hassle with decoding was sometimes chunks of encoded data would be missing which meant you might get a third or only half of an image. Very frustrating. But even with the decoding hassles, there was plenty of great stuff to be had in its very early days.
