I'd like to ride bikes again, but an "intimate" surgery (urethroplasty, due to a urethral stricture) last year makes me think it's not a good idea. So I'm a 100% pedestrian #maketheplanetgreatagain

In bare feet I hope-we wouldn't want you using any animal products to assist the process now would we?....and you might find clogs a bit awkward for extended promenades...

My "damask red" 1962 Riley One-Point-Five (like this one) which I lovingly restored in the late 80s. It featured in a mag a couple of times until I had to sell it.

Great to drive even in modern conditions.

Very nice - my mate bought one the exact same back in 1969 for 30 quid.
Twin SUs and better trim than the similar Wolseley 1500 .

He crashed his of course - baldy tyres and poor brakes...

Friend of mine has a nice One-Point-Five in non-standard Ivory over Teal Blue. It was until recently not so nice under the skin, he’s worked with a local sheet metal mechanic for a couple of years to replace rotten floors and longitudinal members. Just like the closely related Morris Minor these are highly sustainable cars. Harry has MGB brakes and servo fitted plus polyurethane bushes in the front end. His next addition will be an alternator as and when funds permit.

They go off regularly to northern France to Classic Hillclimbs (Course du Cote) such as St Gueno and Hebecrevon.

You can update an MGB even further as a telescopic coil-over shock absorber conversion is available amongst many other mods that improve the car without spoiling the heritage and feel.

Wasn’t really sure where to put this but these are favourite cars to me. https://youtu.be/QwVwQ8bO5yc

This is the recent Saint Ursanne - Les Rangiers European Hillclimb round. The blue and white single seater belongs to a good friend who runs on a tight budget. It’s a 1999 Dallara fitted with a 2-litre GM-Opel XE originally built by Swindon Engines and a good old-fashioned Hewland 4-Speed transaxle.

As you will see he was having some trouble, he was pulling 9000rpm when he nearly hit the barrier but he wasn’t alone.

The sports racers are French Norma or Italian Osella chassis with a range of different engines from BMW to Judd. From those classes come the champions like the Italian ten-times champ Simone Faggioli

I have met the son of Hans Stuck on a couple of occasions, Hans Joachim Jr is a proper Anglophile who speaks impeccable English and is a very entertaining man.

His father drove the V16 Auto Union at Shelsley Walsh in 1936 supported by the Gestapo and Hans Jr has been to Shelsley with the same car in 2016 courtesy of VAG.

Hans Jr and the Audi Historic mechanics who were also great to deal with stayed at the same Inn in Bromyard that Sr had used in 1936. A group of us had dinner with them and it was a memorable evening.
