Seven Samurai (1954) Just a smidge over 4 hours long, really enjoy watching some older films.

I watched this one this past weekend and loved it. Loved how Humphrey Bogart was able to talk "off the cuff" in some of the scenes. It basically came up as his character speaking his mind and being able to say things that today would be consider anti-PC!

I always wondered about the role the "Black Bird" played in the film

Thank God it hasn't been remade!

Along with Chinatown and L.A. Confidential, these movies make a nice trilogy of great crime films!

Rewatched The Maltese Falcon yesterday. I forgot how funny the scene was in which Joel Cairo (played by Peter Lorre) comes to Sam Spade's office and, after a short conversation, starts to threaten him with a gun because he 'intends to search his offices'. Now as expected, he gets knocked out by Spade. After he wakes up, he gets his gun back because Spade believed Cairo came to his senses but he does the same again, repeating the same line: 'You will please clasp your hands together at the back your neck. I intend to search your offices.'

Other than this, I haven't been watching any movies for a while except this one:

Copycat (1995)

A very nice thriller for some late night entertainment but don't expect any unique twists and turns as Copycat remains pretty much conventional in its depiction of the serial killer psyche.

This

Is a combination of Bourne Identity and Sixth day.

Sounds good right.

Only a shame the haphazard execution of the pretty interesting plot leaves a lot to be desired.

Is worth watching (For free ) but fails to score large considering the acting talents on hand and budget.

Just recently saw...

Black Sea

Enemy

Black Sea isn't too bad, but Jude Law's Aberdonian accent is terrible. I'm Scottish and to hear an accent from a part of Scotland being butchered like this is hard to take. In saying that, the a Scottish accent is not an easy one to master, but Law's is just all over the place.

As for Enemy...holy fuck what a mind trip. It's an extremely slow movie, but it's a movie that is along the lines of Donnie Darko (I know I say that a lot but it's a good comparison, especially for Enemy). I only watched it once to give my brain a rest, but it's definitely a film that needs to be watched two or three times to kind of get the jist on what's going on. A definite mind-bender and one of the most abstract films I think I've seen for years.

The Pledge

One of the best Big Jack´s movies ! Directed by Sean Penn, a very believable suspense for those who like a good script a little outside the box- Great casting too!
