Only 5 cars...
I've only owned 5 cars, each bought new. Pictures of cars shown are the same color as mine.
First up, a 1971 Fiat 850 sports coupe. Small, low, under-powered (a 901cc engine, transverse in the back!) I only kept it for 6 years, too much work - it threw fan belts, was a comparative nightmare to work on for something seemingly so simple. A laughably small back seat and very small trunk in the front. It did get great gas mileage, though. Cost $2100.00 Talking of simple, I present the 1977 Toyota Corolla, Like the Fiat, it was very basic - neither of them even had a radio. I drove it until it was totaled in a crash while parked on the street at work. Cost $3700. Moving up in the world, I next got a 1984 VW Golf 4-door. A nice car with decent gas mileage, it did come with a radio but not much else. It was comfortable and enjoyable to ride, with a touch of the race car about it. At $7400.00, exactly twice what I paid for the Corolla. I traded that in for another VW, this time a 1994 Golf 3, color was called Alpine White. Only one dealer in the county had any with ABS, I was able to buy it for a discount because at the time no one else was looking for that feature. First car of mine to have AC, it also came with a moon roof and nice radio/cassette player. Even when I traded it in, I was still getting 31mpg... $12,500.00. That brings me to my current car, bought in 2009 when the economic depression meant cars were sitting on the lot for much longer than usual. I got a Toyota Prius (original series, not the new ones that came out that same year - another reason I got $8K off with a free 5yr extended warranty.) I get 47pmg with it. I wish it handled better, the rear visibility is poor and too much road noise gets through - but over all I'm satisfied with it. I haven't had a single thing go wrong with it so far. I don't know whether to post my cars or my boobs after that opener. I have a 2020 Lincoln Navigator fully decked out including a driver. That leaves me more time to masturbate in the back seat. But my baby is my 1966 Chevy II that has 850 hp and can do the 1/4 mile in 9 seconds (under 8 with aviation fuel). I inherited it from my speed demon man and can't bring myself to selling it before I wrap it around a tree lol. I won't talk about the 7 series BMW that is in the shop getting a new oil pan and crankshaft. I thought it was a 4 wheel drive, my bad. Last edited by CallMeMaybe; April 15th, 2020 at 05:42 AM.. |

My wife had new 1997 C230 and later gave it to my son. It had similar mileage . Brakes, tires, oil and gas and one water pump when it was under warranty. It would be still running if some kid did not watch too much GTA and get inspired. I never saw a car run so flawlessly for over 20 years. |

Porsche Macan S diesel 3.0 twin turbo Silver
with Air suspension, PASM, PDK & PDLS It replaced a BMW330d M-Sport Coupe, which I loved but my wife wrote it off. Plus I needed something to pull a caravan, otherwise it would have been a Porsche Cayman. I wouldn't have chosen Silver as a colour, there are nicer ones, but it was a great second hand buy, especially with all the extra cost options it had. It's very different to drive compared to the BMW, so it took me a while get used to its size and weight, but it's great fun on a winding road. Fuel economy is poor in town, but very good on the motorway or on longer runs.
