Default What is the best cataloguer/converter for XP ?

Like all guys here i have to think about how organise and access in an easy way to all the sets and the pics i have...

On Mac Os i use a very friendly freeware named Graphic Converter. You can see all the directorys, switch to the one you want, see the pic you want (in a thumbnail format), click on it and open it in the software you want (very usefull to correct lots of pics), add directory in the first directory etc.... Very nice.

On XP, i've tried Picture Viewer but the pics does'nt appears well and i can't see (in a thumbnail mode) all the content of the directory. Not friendly at all. ... And as i have to switch from a computer to another, i'm sometimes very slow to answer to somes topics.
So for the good of all here in the forum... Could you give me the name of a freeware like this on XP ?
Thx in advance

About my posts : I often wait years to get the best scans from several posters and several issues here on VEF (big thx to them). I correct tilt, colors, contrasts, remove binding marks etc...All to have a set as perfect as possible. I don't like spread pussies so I modify but you'll find the original pix at the end.

I'm currently trying to put together sets as complete as possible on the following themes :

Well.. thx for your help guys but i dont think you understand what i call friendly. Surely my fault.
So i want focus on a very usefull function on Graphic Converter (unhapilly on Mac OS only).
On the print screen, you can see i have a first directory (let's say a folder) on the left. When i right click on one sub-folder of this first folder i got the sub folder as you can see on the near top right (named ...2F+ 3H).
If i right click on another folder of the first folder i can open a second folder (named ...2F+ 2H). Note that the first sub folder was not closed.
And, in cascade, if right click of any of the folder of the second sub folder i can open the pix and move it from a folder to another one by a simple drag (for example i can drag the pix on the low left of the screen to the folder on the low right of the screen)
That's very usefull and i'm looking for a freeware like this on XP (don't care about convertion features or slideshows or... anything).
Well, it seems very basic for me but may be i'm wrong cause of my Mac background ?

hi pete!
hope it's not too late for my answer. as my collection si growing more and more, i get the same problem as you. i searched for a godd database/viewing-software and found iview multimedia pro.
http://www.iview-multimedia.com/
it's great – you can manage your folders and files all within a so called catalogue, or for beginners, perhaps first in several catalougues. you can even work on the single files – color corrections, cropping, contrast.corrections, etc etc.
unfortunately it's not for free: about 180 euros. but you can download and use a demoversion for 14days.
i use this app on mac osx, also know the graphic converter on mac. but i think iview is more comfortable to use. and its's fast, you can also convert big amounts of pics in an automatic modus, kinda similar to graphic converter.
at first i didn't understand how to manage more than one folder within one "catalogue", but reading some tipps in the developers website i understood it soon.
hope, you can use it.
best regards,
frank

Nothing work as easily than Graphic Converter. I'm very disapointed by the softwares on XP.
