well , the good news is that it forced me to back up my images and replace ' lost ' images - so its not been a total waste of time - so my threads where I posted are better than before - so that's a consolation
will wait and see if the 2 servers are unaffected come the 1st July

I'm not sure it is a good idea. I've posted using imagebam in 2009 and also from autumn 2014. If right now I replace those images there will be many members who will never know.

May be true... but, some minutes ago I re-hosted this post: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...5&postcount=46. It was posted in 2017/04/10 and all images were lost.

I actually saved some of my old Imagebam links when I replaced them all.

After the news that Imagebam was not closing I started editing in links to the old Imagebam galleries, as an alternative option mainly on posts using PimpAndHost as I've seen some members cannot/will not use them.

Many of them seem to be working fine but, as Fabrizio found, I've also noticed that some of my old Imagebam images are now dead. Though the thumbnails in their galleries are still there.

Generally seems to be newer Imagebam posts that are likeliest to be dead rather than the oldies.

Don't know if they will eventually be fully restored but it makes me glad I did manage to replace all Imagebam links in my posts.

At the very least this scare has made me seek out other image hosts & use a selection of them to spread the risk.

Also Imagebam seems to be completely down again right now (Monday evening).

As I've been going back through my Imagebam posts trying to salvage as much as I could during the last week, I'd noticed quite a few dead images- and in some cases ones I knew had been working only a few days ago, as I'd saved them to repost in other hosts at a later date.

Now that it seems Imagebam hasn't fallen off it's perch, I guess the time we've all put in over the last few days reposting stuff hasn't been a total waste- as Polomintguy says, it's a good lesson in spreading material around multiple hosts rather than having all the eggs in one basket- and it's made me tidy my own files up quite a bit as well!

I have learned that Imagebam had a bad server. They are working to recover images from that server at this time. No promises but let's hope for the best.
