I didn't say it wasn't different . Although the two airline pilots I know have both told me that simulators are incredibly realistic in terms of the flight characteristics of a given plane and situation

My point is that all airline pilots constantly train for just such events as decompression and engine failure so there was nothing particularly "heroic" about the performance of this particular pilot .

This is 2018.
Failure to wet one's pants at the slightest thing is now classified as "heroism."

Glad to see that sneering cynicism is still alive in 2018.
Of course if you were a passenger on that plane I am sure that with balls your size you would have just shrugged it off and carried on reading your in-flight magazine

Sheesh

Where here did I use the word heroic exactly ???

There's been a great deal of talk about this incident today, it's that horrible thought that is always at the back of your mind when you fly but accidents are very rare and it's not for nothing they say flying is a relatively safe form of transport.
This pilot's skill and calmness certainly makes me more secure about future flights.

I actually referred to her skill and calmness and let's face it even the most highly trained people can often fall apart under extreme pressure.

I am often accused of cynicism but in this case even though the pilot may be seen my some as just doing her job, I do not think recognising her courage (grace under pressure) during the incident is in any way amiss.

The BBC website. 'Graham Norton leads tributes to Dale Winton.'

Well what a surprise. Maybe Elton John hasn't heard yet.

Hahaha!

Actually, it's BBC propaganda for British consumption. Showing you that "The Few" still guard your skies. Could have been made 10 years ago
