No spider in the world is that big I suppose I have to tell the truth now (if I didn't do it already) Death by nasties in Australia, 1980-1990 -ten years is a good enough spread, right? Spider bite: 1 Crocodile attack: 8 Shark attack: 11 Marine animals: 12 Snakebite: 18 What about others? Struck by lightning: 19 (they swear it's true - more people killed by lightning than snakes) Murder: 3.106 Drowning: 3.367 (I can believe that without thinking) Suicide: 18.836 Road accidents: 32.772 I'm not making it up, folks. You can verify all numbers at the Australian Bureau of Statistics So, visit Australia if you can afford it. You'll love it (Why wasn't I paid to say this. Capitalists screwed me again) |

So there's no reason not to visit because of creepy-crawlies. Seriously, there isn't
Six months ago, I was terrified of them. But now I'm not Above all, Australian people are helpful. Even government officers. To me that made a big difference, so I recommend it |

I always thought tarantulas were big, but after I saw some, I didn't think it. Maybe I only saw hungered specimens |

When I first went to Australia I checked the water down the plug hole story. BS! Though you do see a different night sky. The clearest night sky I ever saw was in Africa. It was pure.

I'd love to emigrate to Australia; unfortunately, as a middle-aged half-wit with no discernable skills, I don't think they'd have me.

When I was small, we were told the Lights were kind & evil witches. The kind witches protected you if you were good. The evil witches did the opposite if you were bad Sometimes I wish it was true. But I always wanted to define what's good & evil |
