Default What do you do with your old DVDs & VHS Porn?

Hey Everyone,

Now that we're well into this bold age of internet porn. It has me thinking about the value of old DVDs & VHS. Vintage Erotica can definitely attest that people still want the old movies and productions. I've sold a majority of my stuff through A.D.M. But lately the exchange has slowed way down, I assume due to demand. I don't really want to throw the rest of my collection away. Overall though this got me thinking...

What did everyone ended up doing with their old DVDs & VHS stuff. Did you throw it away? Did you render it to digital? Did you sell it?

I only had a few softcore VHS tapes, but I am curious as to what A.D.M. stands for!

I gave all my VHS tapes to a friend, he thought all his birthdays had arrived turned out to over 150, they were too bulky & you had to find a suitable place for them. It wasn´t exactly PC to store them in plain view.

Only had a few VHS tapes, and they were not very good anyway - in the bin.
Still have all my DVDs, but now also have a lot of films and videos on my hard drive.

Exclamation Got a lot too

I have quite a collection of VHS tapes, mostly copies of ones I'd rented over the earlier years that are just sitting in storage right now. I've wondered what to do with them, I spent a bunch of time & money on them back in the day and hate to think of just throwing them out. I don't have an inventory of titles, but they were my favorites at the time. Some standard VHS, some S-VHS as the format matured and improved in quality.

Anyone who might be interested in knowing more, drop me a PM here and we can chat more. I'm in the US.

Thanks.

Mod Edit
I had a PM with Vidguy69 who confirmed he is giving them away but shipping will be not at his cost.

Right. Sorry if I hadn't made that clear enough. Yes, I figure they don't have a lot of value on the marketplace. I just want to clear them out and there are a lot of them of mixed subject matter.

For about a decade I had a Memorex vhs and a Memorex dvd player. Separate pieces of hardware / not a 2-in-1 single component. By connecting them with AV cables, I could play any dvd and record that onto a blank vhs tape.

I'd then take that Memorex vhs tape and put that into my Sony 2-in-1 dvd / vhs player. By doing what I did with the 2 Memorex components and the AV cable, it tricked the built in Sony anti-piracy software and allowed me to transfer the copyrighted material onto a blank dvd in the Sony.

I could also connect the Memorex VHS player to the Sony 2-in-1 via AV cables, dupe a professionally manufactured vhs tape from the Memorex onto a blank vhs tape in the Sony, then take that Sony tape and transfer THAT to a blank dvd. Again, tricking the software.

Once I formatted the blank dvds with content on the Sony, I could play them in any Region 1 dvd player.

I did this not only with my old vhs porn, but also non porn vhs tapes that were getting old. Obscure titles that weren't likely to be upgraded by any manufacturer to dvd format. It was basically just backing up my vhs collection. As long as I did all of the recording on SP mode and kept the content to 2 hours or under, the quality of the bootlegged VHS tapes was certainly watchable on the dvd dupes.

With the VHS porn, most of it had been in the form of 2 hour or more compilation tapes, so as I duped them onto the dvds, I went through and weeded out the scenes I used to fast forward through on the vhs tapes. So, the dvd porn upgrades were all killer and no filler. The original porn tapes I discarded after upgrading them to dvd. I even went through some of the professionally manufactured dvd compilations I had bought, and did the same thing.

I still have about 125 or so porn dvds. Maybe 75 of them are professionally manufactured / "store bought", and the other 50 are the dupes I made.

Honestly, in the last 5 + years or so, I tend to watch most of my porn online. Sadly, both the Memorex dvd player and the vhs player shit the bed last year, but I bought both of them in 2000, and got nearly 20 years of pretty much daily use out of them: I did pretty much all the vhs copying I wanted to do.
