Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! How to throw a game away in a matter of minutes! Liverpool once again lose to their bogey team Crystal Palace but to make matters worse it was by an ex bloody player(Christian Benteke) What is it abou this team that we struggle to beat them each time either home or away? Perhaps Alladyce had some magic formula where other managers failed but we really should have won that game especially after the brilliant Coutinho's superb free kick magic. We had chances but were closed down time and time again and some shots blazed over the bar. Can and Lucas were today's weakest links but in the Summer we must get some new players. It really showed that without main players like Lallana, Mané and Sturridge we are hopeless in defending set pieces(corners) and too much zonal marking again. Anyway put this one behind us and on to the next game. We can still make the top four but it is at the moment looking doubtful with Man Utd and City breathing down our necks and lets not rule out Arsenal either.

N'Golo Kante has won the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award for 2016-17.

The Chelsea midfielder, 26, beat Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez in the vote by his fellow players.

Tottenham's Dele Alli won the young player prize for the second successive year

Frantisek Rajtoral found hanged at home in an apparent suicide.

Just so sad.

His death reminds me a little of Gary Speeds. In both cases everyone who saw them prior said they were in high spirits and seemed to have no problems. In both cases those close to them and who had previously been with them expressed complete shock.

I think its easy to forget sometimes that footballers are real people with real problems. We see them in their flash cars and living the high life. We see them with their wads of cash, even lower league players these days and it all looks great. Yet clearly there is a darker side and money and fame can't cure those problems.
RIP

With each slick passing sequence Liverpool made in CP's end that resulted in no shot, all I could think of was that CP was still dangerous and that was even after Coutinho's free kick goal. Lovren didn't have a good game either.

Palace isn't playing like your typical 16th place team.

Liverpool need to win out, wins no draws, and hope for the best to make Champion's League.

Interesting to note that Liverpool loaned French defender Sahko out to Palace in January

With a few other signings that was when they stopped leaking goals
and started taking some big scalps....Chelsea, Arsenal & now liverpool

Says a lot about building a team from the defence up not attack down

It also casts doubt on the ability of some of the more exhaulted coaches in the top division to coach defenders?

Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal..hmm. are we perhaps talking zonal marking?

Been in suicidal mode since Saturday!! The semi-final hoodoo continued.
Anyway now for the 'Implosion' in the league!!

But just a thought!!

Again, as last season, wouldn't it have been more 'interesting' for the couch potatoes, if Spurs had played Palace tonight instead of tomorrow they 'might' have closed the gap to a point and then Chelsea would play tomorrow. With it a 'little' more exciting???

Just a thought!!!
