I have just seen that England played tonight and managed a decent scoreline against the Scots. I hadn't taken much notice of the fixtures for the internationals so wasn't sure when they played. Not a bad result considering how bad England can be at times. I also read that Rooney flopped again although he played better than previously. However I think completing a pass or two would accomplish that given how bad he has played in those previous games.

Well that was interesting. Scotland showing support for Dulwich Hamlet, I would have preferred the proper kit.
I can see why Scotland seem incapable of winning, cannot defend and appear clueless about putting the ball in the onion bag, even the guilt edged chance set up by Rooney, they managed to better a Brian Rix farce.

England should be concerned defensively as Scotland found it reasonably easy to get into our penalty box, but as previously stated they were clueless about scoring.

I thought the game itself lacked any passion and Scotland's faults made us look far better than we actually and I suspect this result has landed Southgate the job, the only saving grace might be if Spain take us apart on Tuesday night.

^Dulwich Hamlet bloody hell that's a blast from the Past, me and my old man went everywhere with them home and away growing up along with a hardcore group of supporters.

Back when it was the old champion's hill stadium before sainsburys brought them out, mind you got a nice stadium out of it.

Saw Alan Pardew play for them and a black Andy Gray (he played for Villa, Palace, QPR) not the scottish twat from sky. and Emeka Nwajiobi in the early 80's who went on to play for Luton.

Fun Fact: if anyone cares :P My old man used to look after the floodlights at the old ground for awhile back in the 70's and he always gushes how he saw he's beloved Chelsea play a friendly there once.

Back on Topic Re England, Not bad from us, just glad Harry Kane never got on, back from injury he didn't need to play, just hope he doesn't play on tuesday instead for a friendly.

I am liking Gareth southgate as the manager, seems to want to do is thing ie pick the players he wants etc. Although he played last night at least he's got the balls to drop Rooney or at least tell him you might not be first choice anymore.

England once again flattered to deceive. 3 Nil looked almost flattering. however the defence looked shaky at best, the Scots played a better game ( I choked to say that ) but their forward line looked as inept as England´s defence. I believe had they been playing a top team such as France, Germany, or Belgium. The score would have been very different. Good goals from Sturridge, Llana, & Cahill though.

I used to watch Leytonstone when the opportunity arose in the 60's, normally March & April when they were playing Tuesday, Thursday & Sat, I would venture along mid week, funds allowing. I think DH used to play in pink shirts with brown trim, brown shorts and weird socks.
Days long gone.

I see Ian Holloway has managed to get himself back into management. He has just signed a 2.5 year deal with QPR who he left 10 years ago. I actually like him as he says some funny stuff from time to time. I think also he talks a lot of sense about the game at times. However at other times he can and does talk complete rubbish and his management record is not great. I am surprised they went for him but maybe they went the cheap route this time. At least there will be some funny post match interviews to look forward to with him at the helm again.

Here are a couple of his classic quotes

“Sir David Beckham? You’re having a laugh. He’s just a good footballer with a famous bird. Can you imagine if Posh was called Lady Beckham? We’d never hear the end of it!” – on rumours about a possible knighthood for David Beckham.

“He’s six foot something, fit as a flea, good looking – he’s got to have something wrong with him. Hopefully he’s hung like a hamster – That would make us all feel better. Having said that, me missus has got a pet hamster at home, and his cock’s massive.” – talking about Cristiano Ronaldo.

Holloway? Nothing more than a serial gobshite. Never left a football club better off than when he arrived.
