That is true and one of the problems in the modern game. Clubs overspending on potential future earnings. Leeds did it and look what happened to them. QPR spent thinking they would stay in the PL and when they got relegated their plan backfired. They brought in JFH thinking after doing so well at Burton he would guide them back to the PL. It didn't work last season and its looking like another season potentially in the Championship. As I said before the league is pretty close this season so they maybe think the new manager bounce you often see will energise them. A club like QPR who have spent big in recent times really needs to be in the PL because of the costs involved. That is not to say they deserve to be there but rather financially they need to be there. Another few seasons and they will be like Forest and Leeds and will continually sell their better players and be stuck in the lower leagues.

An interesting final day in the Prem
~ prior to the International break. Chelsea, phenomenal overnight leaders, could, by the end of today be replaced by either Arsenal or Liverpool. And congrats to Moyes on his win at last. That type of skillful management, could get him noticed at Old Trafford |

Koeman ~ A Man For Anyone
Ronald Koeman is my new pet 'Bah-Hiss' villain
Sorry Motorboat.... Earlier I was going to quote him, but thought nah- not with me and Edits on here. Ronald Koeman has had more clubs as a manager ~~ than Tommy Docherty (who claimed he had more clubs than Arnold Palmer.) But thinking about my avoided post, I looked up Ronald's record. Yes. He has had even more clubs as a Manager than Docherty and Steve Bruce ~ {Brucie Quotes...."Wigan can be a massive club" ~ "Sunderland are a truly Massive club" ~ Palace are a massive club ~ Hull is a future Giant club ~ Villa are such a MASSIVE club" ~ Blues are cr@p"} I made the last one up Ronald has managed Ajax / Benfica /PSV / Valencia / AZ / Feyenoord / Southampton and now the Toffees. He has walked out on many for a bigger club, when his star was rising, he has been sacked as much when his star drooped. A Man for Anyone. As Jose said, "The richest Managers are the ones sacked the most" Jeez it may be true. When playing for Barca before facing Man Utd~ in the early 90s, Ronald dsimissed English clubs as : Quote:
Perhaps it's a lack of research or knowledge...but Chelsea's 5-0 over the Toffees was accomplished by a non-English Manager with only 2...TWO...English players. So it goes...as Kurt said |

I never thought much of Gary Monk even when Swansea did quite well.
However he seems to have done amazing things at Leeds under the greatest pressure.... a flakey, criminal owner....alledgedly (can we get sued for comments on here?). |

A good day for PL football fans today with 3 games live on tv. For football fans in general there are about 20 games being shown live today in the UK at various times. Some obviously clash with their KO times though. However you could in theory watch 6 games in a row today from midday until after midnight.
I remember a time where there were less than 6 games on a season live, never mind 6 in one day. |

I would say other leagues are interested in playing football, here apart from the top six the target is 40 points and packing the penalty area and not losing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Apparently the Chinese Super League has their eye on a PL player and are willing to pay him £300K a week as well as the club a £20m transfer fee. The player is question is none other than Andy Carroll.
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/footb...e-Slaven-Bilic I have to say if I was him I would be fully tempted to take up the offer. It looks like his England career is a no go so he may as well just go for the cash now. It maybe mercenary but with his injury record best to cash out while he can to give himself a very comfy post career life. |
