Matthew Broderick

On August 5, 1987, while driving a rented BMW in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, Broderick crossed into the wrong lane and collided head-on with a Volvo driven by Anna Gallagher, 28, accompanied by her mother, Margaret Doherty, 63, killing both instantly.

Broderick suffered a fractured leg, fractured ribs, concussion, and a collapsed lung. Grey (GF at the time) received minor injuries, including severe whiplash. Broderick told authorities he had no recollection of the crash and did not know why he was in the wrong lane. "I don't remember the day. I don't remember even getting up in the morning. I don't remember making my bed. What I first remember is waking up in the hospital, with a very strange feeling going on in my leg," he said at the time.

Broderick was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and faced up to five years in prison, but was later convicted of the lesser charge of careless driving and fined $175, which the victims' family called "a travesty of justice".

Default Yes, your boss really could be a psychopath

One in five corporate executives are psychopaths, a new study finds. Learn the skills to deal with this type of boss, for the sake of your own sanity.

New research may have just confirmed what you’ve long suspected—that your boss is, in fact, crazy.

The Telegraph reported 21% of corporate executives had clinically significant levels of psychopathic traits, or a severe form of antisocial personality disorder—roughly the same rate as that among prisoners—according to a Bond University study of 261 senior professionals in the U.S.

The rate of psychopathy in the general population is about one in 100, just to put that data in perspective.

Characterized by impulsive and irresponsible behavior, some signs of antisocial personality disorder include manipulation, deceit, an inability to control anger, blaming others for problems and lack of concern, regret, remorse or guilt, according to the Mayo Clinic.

I think you have to be an unfeeling psychopath to just callously sack someone from their job without turning a hair. Someone who could have a mortgage and/or a family to provide for. Plenty of the bastards out there and I've worked under a few in my time.

I once had to fire someone in my previous job, and I had absolutely no qualms about doing it. The guy was a goddam moron, incompetent at his job, and a bully who caused another co-worker to have a nervous breakdown. For years he played the system, doing the bare minimum to keep his job, and occassionally, if he could be bothered, actually do some work. I don't care about his personal circumstances, he was providing very poor service to our customers, was a menace to the workplace, and taking a job someone could do alot more with.

The day I escorted him from the premises was one of the sweetest of my career.

And, and after he left, we found out he was being investigated by the police for domestic abuse. I think in that situation, he was the psychopath.

I agree that in this case you obviously did what was right and necessary but this, sadly, isn't always (or usually) the case. Many people are sacked simply for having a 'bad' sick record (even though they're genuinely sick) and there are times when companies actively seek to dismiss people to save money and make cutbacks and will use the slightest of excuses to do so. One firm I worked for used to sack 'long term' employees whenever they had the chance because long term employees actually cost more to employ with their higher wages and longer holiday entitlement than new employees.
If someone genuinely deserves the sack as in the case you mention then yes, they've practically 'asked' for it but there are many unfortunate people that don't deserve it and if they have a mortgage and/or a family to support then it's a terrible thing to do to someone.

Ive held jobs in different fields and I can say most of my bosses were assholes. Even when you came to work everyday, did your job, never caused any issues at the workplace, the bosses were loud, threatening and the worst of people. I've had a few good bosses, but most sadly were anything but.

Thumbs up Did you also know. Doug Bradley had no lines as Pinhead originally. Was meant to be a silent character. Only because effects masks on Butterball and Chatterer ended up preventing the actors talking that he was given all their lines to speak = Result

That I've still to recover twenty one (Damn my own exact age, talk about spooky noodles ) thousand AWOL thanks
I know
Yet still those Ethiopians dare to keep complaining about starvation and droughts

Wink I`ll always purely love Ashley Laurence , in a purely lustful sense.

Pedant away me relentlessly (Raunchy some might say ) closer than the bailiffs Mate

Doug has also said (Website) how much he fought to be the chap who spoke (Dubbed into American eventually) that was shifting the furniture though. As his "Lead" character had no lines and hated the idea he`d be hidden behind makeup.
Sheesh, no shit is he happy how things turned out.
Especially as by all accounts he was paid three million four hundred thousand quid (Yes pounds !) by the Weinsteins to be in (Albeit slasher crap) Hellraiser three.

Fair play. As the film is really well directed. Never more so considering it was his first time behind the camera. Only the crew themselves came up with the name as pins were used before it was agreed nails were clearer on screen.

Hmmmm NailHead ?.

I think it works-ish

Me (Yes him) I`m not even that interested.
Would rather learn about the Hellraiser folklore.
Maybe we`ll finally have more of it in the Judgement movie ?.
Yet this far Doug has refused to be in it for script sensitive legal reasons he was told to sign.
Bah.
A Hellraiser without Doug isn't worthy of the name
So currently the producers are talking about a reboot.
What , they`re going to remake the original
Sacrilege

During prohibition, Herbert Hoover was able to drink alcohol perfectly legally - he would pop along to the Belgian embassy for drinks every evening (the embassy being Belgian and not U.S. territory, so Belgian law applies).

He was then free to saunter home, pissed as a fart, and the five-oh couldn't touch him
