I did for two years Mate. In Sydney for a year, then I just traversed the land from Brisbane to Perth. Never once saw a Brown Snake or Taipan, but I did smash a few Funnel Webs.

I think you may be confused with the red back spider (black widow family) which has a tendency to lurk under dunny seats, especially if they are in an outside loo (toilet).
