If men and women want to cover themselves with tattoos, that's entirely their choice and good luck to them. It's the same with fitting metalwork to their faces and parts of their body.
But there is clearly considerable peer pressure to have some tattoos because they are regarded as a "cool" fashion statement. The problem is that visible tattoos soon look like clumsy graffiti and after that, they can be worse than skin cancer. Some people with tattoos seem totally unaware that the image of themselves they project is not automatically considered acceptable by many others and anyone with a load of tattoos or visible piercings will find it very difficult to secure any kind of worthwhile job, will never be taken seriously, or found attractive by many members of the opposite sex. Personally, I am at a complete loss to understand why any good looking woman or man would want to spoil their bodies by having these kind of totally pointless things done to themselves. I wish someone could tell me what the point is! |

I simply think it's reasonable to be a little judgmental in a situation like this. When men or women are trying to sell themselves to others, or project an image in public, they need to take into account the possible response, which may not be to their advantage. |

Thanks, but no, thanks ! Todays ink-frenzy is way too much for me - one or two small little tats I could arrange with, but what we often see in todays porn as well as rela life rather appalls me.

I hate tattoos, their ugly as sin and they ruin the natural beauty of the human figure. (along with piercings and fake boobs) Even a small tattoo looks like an unfortunate birthmark.
Sadly it's a part of mainstream culture. Most employers don't have no tattoo clauses anymore because they wouldn't be able to hire anyone if they did. Everyone in my local grocery store from employees to customers have them. Since it's no longer socially unacceptable the practice is here to stay. And now I see the trend creeping into European circles. It's disheartening that so many are disfiguring their bodies and presenting themselves in such unattractive ways. I find the whole practice childish and a regression of the human condition.

I think tattoos look bad enough on men. They look ten times worse on women and there is absolutely nothing about them that could even be considered feminine. Totally hideous.

I'm OK with the ink; sometimes it can be quite appealing and sexy.
Just think that the individual should make sure they go to a good artist and exercise some judgement on the kind of tattoo and its location. Janine Lindemulder would be a good albeit extreme example. I find that the bulk of her tats are quite appealing but made a mistake with the Latin phrase across her belly and the awful clown on her left calf. The "Shine On" on the back of her hand is not a big fave either. With as much ink as she has, though, a mistake or two is inevitable. |

I like tattoos, period! As long as the person getting the tattoo realises it's there for life. If a woman wants a tattoo, who are we to judge them. My ex-wife just recently got her first and has said she will have more. My sister in law has a few, all tasteful and all well done. If you don't like women with tattoos you don't have to look at them......
