My second point is there's a lot of vitriolic comments against pimpandhost - do we know why this is?

And lastly, if so many despise it, why is the plugin even there?

Members hate p & h because many many years ago its was a shocker
compared to imagevenue & imagebam who were reliable.

Regularly going offline for days/weeks on end because bandwidth was outstripping server capacity

Today i actually think their all about the same but the memories of how bad P & H
was still resonates

In truth P & h today because of its zipfile backup might actually be better than the other 2
given how their no longer as reliable

The move from filehosts from large HD picture sets to imagehosts has pretty much made all of them
vulnerable especially for anyone trying to download complete threads with download managers

They cant cope 100% of the time with the pure volume which shows up with the odd picture here and there dieing well before even 12 months is up &, mass downloads being aborted etc

I still think the only system that has ever worked is pictures plus filehost link backup
The filehost link would at least reduce the stress on the imagehosts



PS is still blocked by interpol in Australia

It is still blocked by certain ISP's in Australia but the block in Norway was lifted when the forum was cleaned up.

As far as I know, the owner is working to get the Australia block lifted.

The above message came from a post in michelle thornes thread so i'd say either OPTUS (my current ISP) are voluntarily blocking them as per the 2 black lists begun in 2008 that were leaked by wikileaks in 2009

Even access to p & h site direct is blocked so they would appear to be on 1 of the 2 secret black lists

Its almost impossible to know whats blocked in australia because the list as far as i'm aware isnt open to public scrutiny and the laws behind it are intentionally vague in their wording and can be changed in a heartbeat

The usual waffle about anything harmful to children means nothing is really safe

Bottom line would seem to be if you want access to P & H in the short term you have use a VPN
They tried to exempt VPNs from being outlawed in the future but got defeated

Maybe this is slightly off-topic, but sometimes when I click on a pimpnadhost link, I get a pop-up tab directing me so some adult site that probably isn't one of our approved sites. Anybody else have this happen?

Its little more than scare tactics

Like you say its not full of child porn so there is no real issue unless your trying to access
that specific content on what ever domain / site has triggered the warning

To get passed the message use a proxy
