Very unfair, should have been given a knighthood for his outstanding work at Millwall.

Seconded...blimey do I "dislike Millwall"....

Not their current fan's fault that they were strike-breakers in 1926 against the West Ham supporters...but there you go... things stick.

Hollows for England !!

I like Ian's Charity stuff ~ his wife is deaf and his kids are suffering, he does a lot of Charity work for them.... and he has applied 3 times for Blues in the last 5 years. Lee Clark beat him....
Then we got a Div 2 Trainee Manager in Rowett, ahead of him...

AND.........QPR appoint him.....

So It Goes...as Kurt says.... weird appointment....imo

However at other times he can and does talk complete rubbish and his management record is not great. I am surprised they went for him but maybe they went the cheap route this time. At least there will be some funny post match interviews to look forward to with him at the helm again.

Here are a couple of his classic quotes

“Sir David Beckham? You’re having a laugh. He’s just a good footballer with a famous bird. Can you imagine if Posh was called Lady Beckham? We’d never hear the end of it!” – on rumours about a possible knighthood for David Beckham.

“He’s six foot something, fit as a flea, good looking – he’s got to have something wrong with him. Hopefully he’s hung like a hamster – That would make us all feel better. Having said that, me missus has got a pet hamster at home, and his cock’s massive.” – talking about Cristiano Ronaldo.

At least he wont piss 180 million down the toilet like the other highly credentialled
cheque book managers did.

History says Holloway has twice got teams into the EPL
followed by 2 relegations so yes a cheap bet but not unproven.

If he did get them promoted he'd most likely be replaced given his track record in the EPL
- Blackpool were onfire for half a season but Palace were a basket case from the start.

Gareth Southgate ? ? ~ jeez ~ ~ about his England Manager in 2003:

Quote:
When Sven (G Eriksson) talks, he makes sense - BUT he doesn't inspire.
I don't think any England Manager ever called the rat-pack-journos..."Sir"... even the 'un-inspirational' Sven reffered to them as B**stads, to their face.
But he was smiling, so I suppose it went over their heads

Whereas Spain are a class side I do feel that we didn't need another meaningless friendly at this time of year.

I am sorry to read that Daniel Sturridge might be leaving Liverpool in January, I would have thought that Klopp would have given him a few more games to try and get his mojo back. Is it clever to lose another striker? I know we are looking at other players but I would have liked Daniel to at least see out the rest of the season.

Just read that Steven Gerrard will be leaving the MLS after L.A. Galaxy lost out on penalties and perhaps we can persuade him to come back to Liverpool, he is always welcome. I also read earlier this year that he could become something at the FA, and let's face it they need better management themselves these days and his experience could be of use to England.

I watched the England v Spain last night. The fact that it was 2-0 in the 90th minute, and ended 2-2 speaks volumes.

Does anyone else think John Stones just isn't a defender, and in my personal opinion, should really be playing central defensive midfielder instead?

That way, when he does end up making one of the 4-5 crucial mistakes he makes in every game, there is another line of defense behind him that can cover.
