I saw many of them in a top-shelf magazines and never saw their "newspaper" appearances, so I don't always think of them as p g 3 girls; for example, I never knew Stephanie Bews had been in newspapers, saw her in m* f *r first.

There are too many to make a single choice of the old guard, but when I was a teenager Debbie Boyland was easily the best for me so if I had to pick only one it would be her! Sandra Jones and Kathy Lloyd were very nice and Tracey Elvik too. Guess I need at least one blonde, so Karen White who was pretty and had a good figure too.

For the modern lot, assuming they're not OT here, Sophie Howard. Then Sophie Howard. Did I say Sophie Howard? Thought I said Sophie Howard. 5 & 6 are Peta Todd and Vikki Blows, both awesome. For a blonde, well Katie Downes, but her new hairstyle is awful, so Amy Green will do

A friend of mine some years back had a young daughter who had heart trouble, and they were trying to raise funds for Guys Hospital childrens unit. The first two 'celebs' that were asked and who came as a pair, and who shall remain nameless, wanted £2000 each just to turn up from literally the other side of the river! Linda came all the way from her home in Essex right over to Chiswick, spent the entire night in my friends local pub signing autographs, having pictures taken etc., and she did it all for free! And this was at the height of her career back in the late 80's! Great girl!

So many favourites causing a rumbling in the boxers as my old memory mulls this one over...

I think I'd have to go for Debbie Boyland, the first page 3 girl I ever really looked out for. But it's a close-run thing... Tracey Dixon, Kisten Imrie, Kathy Lloyd, Claire Louise Hickory, Lalla Dean, Sian Adey Jones, Corinne Russell... ok, Debbie Boyland it is, but if any of the others want a recount just send them round to my place.

Just out of interest, which does everyone find more patronising on Page 3 of the S**m: the excruciating puns they used to put alongside the girls, or the News In Briefs? It's by far the latter for me, because it's patronising to both us and the girls themselves. While I don't doubt they have smarts up top (in more ways than one

), they're just not the kind of thing they'd be asked about following a shoot that probably happened months ago anyway. And it's funny how their opinions always fit in with the paper's, isn't it...

I know it's mad to call someone the most beautiful woman in the world, but I can confidently say that, in my eyes, I don't think anyone (let alone P3 girl!) would ever exceed Rachel Garley in visual beauty.
