Nice thread Mal, did you know the Smash ad was voted the best UK TV ad ever?(The sad thing about that poll however is that the bloody awful Shake and Vac ad was high up as well)
One I like (unfortunately I cant remember the product) it was the Dambusters one with the comedy duo (I think Punt & Dennis?) where they are talking on the Radio like in the war films and when he takes his mask of the voice is the same. Oh and when they release the 'bouncing bombs' a German soldier comes out and saves them like a goalie! Just typing this has made me remember the product..."I bet he drinks Carling Black Label".

Currently, I think the Compare The Meerkats is the best around, although it looks as if they are running out of ideas now.
Over the years though I think Guiness takes it, especially the domino run ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP-v95g2RU8 |

Guys watch out for the new Weetabix advert it is one of the best I have seen for a while. A horse stumbles in what is obviously meant to be the Grand National and the horse then urges the jockey to win the race without him.Which he does.
I was sure this was going to be another Carling ad but no, it is for Weetabix. I looked for a youtube link to post but I think the ad must be too new.

Funny thing about ads - I literally can't remember one of the top of my head, they just pass me by. The only one which springs to mind (after much straining to remember) is one which most people here won't have seen because it ran in Northern Ireland - it was a Crimestoppers ad which had some guy being shot in the legs and then a number flashed up on the screen for you to call up and inform on your local IRA/UDA crime lord. As if.
