Never had a nickname at school as the friends i palled around with were as dull as me. All we did was repeat certain young ones lines to each other as we walked around the school at lunch time trying to avoid the teachers who would volunteer to be outside and make sure none of us was enjoying ourselves Have a nickname now though which has been mine for the last few years. Im called paulie because one summer a few years back goodfellas was still remembered and i was making a backdoor bbq for everyone and decided to try finely chopping garlic as i wanted to put some in half the sausages id bought so they were not all the same. One even fatter friend of mine told me i looked just like paulie from the film and started calling me it all the time . My other friends started calling me it after a few months and its stuck every since. Now i think about it i wish id used that as my username. Daft really that i didnt think about it at the time but i was too excited about deciding to join . Then never thought id be doing anything more than thanking others. Little did i know id end up typing more during my free time in a month than i had during the last ten years

^^ @ Blatt, There are worse things in life than walking around quoting lines from The Young Ones
By the time this was on, I was at Uni in Newcastle and even there the Phrase uttered 'A complete and utter B**tard' was often used. Sometimes a programm is representative of its time, it captures the zeitgeist (ooooh get him..college boy). The young ones dis tjis for me as did the brilliant Red Dwarf a few years later. And since I found out what zeitgeist actually meant(last year) I have wanted to use it in a sentence. ......I thank you |

I was called "Sticks" in high school because I was 6ft. tall but only weighed about 125lbs.

" Child care " - Because i take an interest in the welfare of teenage girls.
Or " Stubby McNoFingers " - Because i bite my nails. Or " Doing it tomorrow " - Because i take pride in my work .

I've had many nicknames in my life, but the only one I ever accepted was my college nickname of "Tiger Cat." I got the name for 2 reasons. First, I played intramural football wearing a replica Hamilton Tiger-Cats jersey. In place of the name on the back, it said "Tiger-Cats," and since few knew or could pronounce my last name, I became Tiger Cat. Second, on my dorm floor, there were 4 other guys named "John," so we had Jack, Curls, Sully and Lucky, in addition to me.

In my schooldays I was known as "scarface" due to my christian name rather than any facial marks. Once at work all the usual silly names, night, light and blind (Al) and the people I played football and cricket with added two more, Groucho and waiter, probably something to sdo with moustache.
These days almost everyone refers to me as "Victor" even dearly beloved, just need the lamp post on the front lawn to come through the bedroom window. Last edited by victor meldrew; October 26th, 2010 at 01:29 PM.. |

I`ve given Tabler the nickname Karzi , not because he`s seldom off the bog (Although he is seldom off ) but because he holds within him the spirit of the suicidal Kamikaze
Along with several other spirits of course , mostly Gin and Vodka
