The weirdest parts of Star Wars Episode 7, The Force Awakens, are those with Kylo Ren. There was the ominous, sinister bass sound; the upside-down-cross light saber; and the silliness of him removing that grim, Vaderlike mask to reveal an "emo" Adam Driver.

It's really weird for Adam Driver to be "emo" as Kylo Ren, because he was a Marine in real life.

) But then again, as Tom the Marine once told me: "A lot of Marines are nerds..."

I should add, at this point, that I watched some YouTube today, and of course some videos about Star Wars. There are theories about Snoke being from the Unknown Regions (source of Dark Side power? in Palpatine's intuitions) or else being a deformed clone body from one of Palpatine's contingency plans (but possessed with the devious, manipulative life force of Palpatine, plus what remains of his military might...)

There are even theories that Palpatine planned for the Empire, or its Imperial Remnant, to recover in the Unknown Regions and their wellspring of Dark Side power, then push off to another galaxy to colonize it and create a new power base. Yes, there are all kinds of odd theories about Star Wars, and sometimes I feel a little guilty about delving into it: Sir Alec Guinness, in his last years, said that "You Must Not Watch Another Star Wars Movie" past the age of 30. But I think most of Generation X has disregarded Obi-Wan's advice...

We've not done any more posts on this thread for about a week, so let's try it again:

There are again rumors on YouTube that there will soon be a trailer up on YouTube from Disney. There was, indeed, a purported trailer video on YouTube, but it had the sneaky disclaimer "F-M" at the end of it, indicating that it was "Fan-Made". Still, Mike Zeroh and the knowledgeable people online say that we will see a trailer in March. I myself cannot wait for another trailer, which should be as good as what they made for Rogue One.

Mike Zeroh of YouTube says that Episode 8 will feature Kylo Ren (Adam Driver's character) developing feelings for Rey (Daisy Ridley's character)... Snoke believes that Kylo Ren failed to kill her, not because of her strength, but because of his weakness for her.

Again, there are rumors that a town in Croatia will be used as a cityscape in Episode 8.

It's been about two weeks, so here is what I know of Episode 8 that I didn't know 14 days ago (admittedly, not much more...)

YouTube channels have confirmed that there will be heavier and bigger AT-AT walkers in the new movie; they will be approximately twice the size of the massive walkers in Episode 5, and be able to maneuver better. They have been referred to as "gorilla walkers", and rumor has it that they will have either five legs [?!] or just be faster/better versions.

There is also some footage that a shareholder meeting of Disney got to see: a teaser in which Rey (female Jedi?) wields the lightsaber from Episode 7, and moves rocks with the Light Side of the Force. The details were leaked not long ago onto YouTube. And this month, there will be the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, at which point Disney will let fans see the very first official trailer for Episode 8, then release it to the public.
