'World of Sport' Saturday lunchtime. I'd usually crawl out of bed after a Friday night drinking session with the lads an hour of so before it started, always enjoyed it as it covered a wide range of sport.

I preferred "Grandstand" but my father liked the wrestling on WOS

And "The Big Match" on Sunday with Brian Moore and Jimmy Hill.

ITV's rival to Match of the Day which I actually preferred. It didn't concentrate quite so much on the top clubs and often delved into the lower leagues.

Loved Grandstand from the theme to the content-which was back when the BBC were THE sports channel. The Big Match in it's late 70's was okay, good theme tune but also preferred Match of the Day. I do remember when Eric Morecambe appeared on both World of Sport(with Dickie Davies) and Grandstand with Frank Bough and took the places by storm having Davies in stitches and Bough confused and doubled up with laughter. It was probably the funniest bit of the whole programme.

The first Sports events that I remember were one semi-final and much better the final of the World Cup in Argentina in 1978. I don't remember the game, but I remember when all these brilliant confettis flew in the Stadium.

Went to visit Mum today, on the way about 1 km from her place I saw , well didn't actually for the first time ever was an old hall, was demolished.

That hall was over 50 years old, it was the old Scouts and Cubs hall, hasn't been used in over 20 years I'm guessing ..... got to wondering, when I was a kid it was common for a kid to be in the scouts, Fuck me but I can't remember the last time I saw a boy scout .... have any of you been in the Scouts ???

I was, for a very short time, their idea of youth development kind of didn't agree with my idea .... and then there was camping and hiking, their idea of camping and my idea were worlds apart, I was actually asked to not come back Fucking nerds

I remember back in the 70's the first time I saw mobile phone.
It was the size of a big mans lunchbox with q regular looking handset on top.
Now I have an experia that's so small I'm worried I will swallow it one day.

Almost exactly my experience. It was kinda necessary at my school to be either in the school scout troop or the CCF (combined cadet force). There was no way I was going to parade around with a gun and a uniform so I signed up and dibbed my f*cking dobs for a few months.

But camping... NO! And never have since. Even a 4 star hotel is roughing it.
