Hey hey hey! No politics around here.
Oh. You're referring to Jeff Kennett? Yeah. He was a huge knob. |

We did that when we voted him out. Why do we still keep giving that man oxygen?

Silly season of trades begins
Got to hand it to the hawks they arent afraid of off loading players who have been key to their recent successful period
Hawk bombshell: Sam Mitchell set to be traded to West Coast Ben Guthrie October 12, 2016 10:24 AM Mitchell could join the Eagles in 2017 on a one-year playing contract with a coaching component attached to his contract in the years after that. The 34-year-old, who recently won his fifth best and fairest award at the Hawks, revealed it was coach Alastair Clarkson who put forward the option of joining the Eagles. "I didn't go to the club and say I want to go to West Coast," Mitchell told SEN radio. "Clarko came over and said, as a friend, 'Is that something you'd be interested in?' "And you could have knocked me over with a feather to be honest." http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-1...-coaching-role http://www.afl.com.au/trade/trade-talk |

I have to say. Sam Mitchell leaving Hawthorn is the most bizzare trade or transfer I've seen in any sport.

Retirements, delistings and trade: Who's left your club?
Talk about cleaning players out
Includes links to the previous tears trades 2012-2015 Some clubs in that period have just about turned over 75% of their entire squad http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-3...e-at-your-club |

First ever week of women's football falls so far below expectations of standard, it's embarrassing.
All four losing teams, Melbourne, score as many goals as Romelu Lukaku did last night |

Cant say I've watched or listened to any of the womens matches
because I'd already seen the all star match last year That showed the level of skill was very low if compared to the men When you factor in 1. squads in the high 20s - barely able to cover injuries - require top-up players who havent done a pre-season 2. They play 4 - 15 minute quarters - half the mens game 3. Only 16 on the ground - grounds that dwarf any that even those with footballing backgrounds would have played on , let alone the code hoppers - someone didnt think it through Its a marketing exercise designed to see how much interest there is from the public - attending in person / watching on TV & what Sponsors are about to actually make it financially workable Its a carnival more than a season If its going to attract a different audience So far the womans football has out rated the Mens Soccer on TV Strategically it has a place It feels like what T20 has done for cricket - drawn a different crowd to the sport Thats why the entire exercise is largely free for the public (apart from double headers) All under written by the new TV deal of 2.5/6/7/ something billion no doubt https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL_Women's http://www.afl.com.au/womens |
