Will porn make me a sociopath?

I personally don't believe it does.Reading the reporting of the case by the Mail [rag of a paper] disgusted me ,I found it ironic that they used porn as an explanation for Matthews madness ,yet the Mail and the media glamourised the girls death in a very explicit pornographic manner,i.e. check out his sick txts ,parading the parents on tv ,showing the Police footage of her murders in the interview rooms.
It all reminded me of the Ted Bundy case where a crackpot interviewed Bundy and claimed porn made him do it.There was a media circus against porn and the owner of Hustler defended himself very eloquently.Press coverage is more desensitizing than porn

Answer these two questions:

Is every person who views porn a sociopath?

Does every sociopath view porn?

Both answers must be affirmative for the premise to hold water.

For me it doesn't and won't, no. For someone to be a Sociopath they not only have to already have Sociopathic tendencies, but I think they have to lack any sort of moral empathy or guilt. I think we all have Sociopathic tendencies but the majority of us have a conscience and morals, so it's that that stops us all from actually being Sociopaths. I mean a lot of people would probably think to themselves when they see, say, Justin Bieber or a Kardashian "Fuck, I'd love to fucking smash them against a wall!!" whereas in reality we wouldn't actually DO it.

Porn is a regular scapegoat for a lot of things. A guy goes and rapes 10 women within the span of a month...the police catch onto him, search his house/apartment for clues and find porn magazines and movies. Doesn't mean the porn set him off, but the typical feminazis and sections of the media will tend to focus on the porn. It's like blaming video games for modern day violence. Instead of trying to understand why a person did what they done porn and video games are an easy blame.

Porn is often targeted by the likes of the hacks at rags like the Daily Mail... Today it's hardcore porn, in the 1980s it was "video nasties", in Jack the Ripper's time it was no doubt the product of illicit printers, in medieval times it was some woodcut carved by a witch, and in the stone age it was the fault of someone seeing rutting sabre-toothed tigers as a child. Or something.

There will always be something to blame, something for someone to ban and something for the professional snoops to look at with their accusing eyes, but the truth is that the sick individuals are just that - sick. They have either been wired badly from the start, or brought up in an atmosphere where they are unable to develop a civilised set of values and a moral compass.

In some cases something else may exacerbate things or act as a catalyst, and I have no doubt that pornographic material can do that. Though these thoughts can also be twisted by computer games, films, books or even something even more banal.

I have read and watched porn since I was a teenager, and consider myself fairly well-adjusted. I have been able to keep a job, live in a happy relationship with a living and breathing female and retain a moral compass, while at the same time watching gangbangs and multi-facial scenes involving consenting adults.

"Sociopath" is NOT the right word, whatever one's answer. As Ironman pointed out, that refers to simple lack of human empathy. And it has now been hijacked as a political buzzword in the 99% vs 1% wars. IOW, the 1%, corporations, etc. are "sociopaths". Just semantics? It easily makes a ? like the OP seem funny.

The proper clinical term for brutal/serial murderers is "psychopath". As Lady Luck says, do the math. Most of the posts are right anyway, especially about never-ending propaganda of mass media & establishment agencies. For them it's about self-protection, self-preservation. Mind control, really. They want to keep their hold on you, especially your mind.
Funny, the employees of these orgs are no doubt porn consumers as much as everyone else. But, wear the org suit, you have to talk the talk.
