Kevin here. I don't know a thing about Australian politics, but if Australia became an independent nation in 1901 why does your currency still have the image of Queen Elizabeth 11 on it. All of you should revolt and say to the English monarchy " Australia is independent, we will no longer have the images of our former English masters on it!!!"

Maybe twenty or so years ago, we had a referendum on becoming a republic, but there wasn't much enthusiasm for it. I suppose essentially the Monarchy is harmless. We don't pay for it and the right to appeal to The Privy Council in England was abolished years ago so it's just a bit of colour and razzle dazzle. In truth, revolting is probably more trouble than it's worth...although I am thinking of sending a telegram to Mrs Majesty asking her to send E to the tower.

I'd re think that, If we had a referendum today, grudgingly I'd vote to keep the British Monarch.

I'd say 90% of Aussies don't give a damn about who is an ambassador to which country, they don't make policy, just a glorified messenger.

A great weekend for Australia last weekend. An exciting brand new era has begun, a prosperous, inclusive Australia, free from the restraints of the past.

TCR Australia is here! A modern, authentic touring car racing series, that allows cars that are largely used by the Australian public to race against each other.

None of this boring, outdated, inauthentic Ford vs Holden 5 litre V8 crap.

In 2019, Australian motorsport, which is still stuck in the 70s, now has the chance to be brought into the 90s (That's how outdated Australian motorsport is)

Id been waiting 20 years for this. I was so happy, I could cry.

Oh yeah, there was also the election.

I have to say, this is has been perhaps the most impactful election result on me personally. The psychology is fascinating. I have a much clearer view of Australia than what I thought I had as recently as last Saturday. I actually feel like a different person from last week.

Seeing the aftermath of discussion on media and forums has been very interesting for me to observe. There's been a lot of stuff I thought I got or didn't get, but do now. It even puts into context what's occured in the past.

There's quite a lot to go into for one post. But I'll share my thoughts as I go along.
