You can cut glass underwater with a pair of scissors.
I first read this in a book by Arthur C Clarke and didn't believe it until I tried it. Here's a youtube video (I don't mean that's me doing it - that lady isn't me. I just mean this is a video demonstrating it). |

The late lamented Robert Vaughn was the very last of the original actors from original 'The Magnificent Seven' film(not the remake) Brad Dexter, Horst Bucholtz, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Yul Brunner & Steve McQueen were the others and each of them went early. And did you know that not many people can name them because they always miss out poor old Brad or Horst.

Worldwide the number of people who die every day because they got infected by a super bug while in the hospital equals 4 fully loaded 747 jets. In 2014 over 700,000 people died and it is predicted to climb to 10,000,000 by 2050 if a solution can't be found. That would make it the number one killer ahead of cancer, heart disease, war, famine you name it. E. coli and salmonella are the most resistant and the deadliest. Every time a new drug is introduced the bacteria adapt and become stronger and harder to treat. Many doctors feel that over prescribing antibiotics has been a major contributor. They also feel adding antibacterials to all types of soaps and cleaners and these products finding their way into water supplies has helped the bacteria develop their resistance. |

The biggest problem is people not taking the full course of antibiotics prescribed-because they 'feel better' or the symptoms have diminished. All that does is ensure the selection of the more resistant strains as the most common strain of whatever bug you are suffering from...

This is fascinating and was the BBC London News earlier. A place in London called Dog Kennel Lane(now Hill) in East Dulwich was double bombed by the Luftwaffe in the Second World War and hit a bunker where people were sheltering. If you look around the area there are quite a lot of railings but look closer and you will see that in fact they are made up of stretchers that were used to help the people and move the dead and injured-some are small because they were the children's stretchers. After the war they were made into railings and yet people who have lived there for years have no idea as to their original usage. Read more about it here. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/fo...ad.php?5,45599
