Hope they're not reposts:
I wonder what people would say if compilation album covers were still made in the Top Of The Pops style. BTW, there's one funny title on the Svensk toppar 22 album: Vad har du under blusen, Rut. My Swedish isn't too good, but I believe it means What do you have under your blouse, Rut |

Monica Lewis
That's what I like about this thread...every once in a while I'll get something that makes me ask "Monica who?" so I go look her up and find out just how famous she was (being the singing voice of Chiquita Banana in the 60's is the least of her accomplishments). I have to admit I particularly liked the 1945-1949 Song Book photo with her posing behind the record. But I understand she's still around and still beautiful as this 2004 CD cover can attest to (sorry it's not an LP but hopefully you'll allow the exception).

Musical greetings from Finland
Here's a couple of album covers by Finnish singers:
Kata Kärkkäinen is better known for her Playboy pictorial. She also made an album and released several singles in the late 1980's. She's told afterwards that her career as a singer was record company's idea. These days Kata Kärkkäinen is best known in Finland for her scripts for TV. In the late 1980's Kikka was Finland's answer to Sabrina and Sam Fox. Her songs had an only slightly hidden sexual content. Here's an example: Sukkula Venukseen (Shuttle to Venus). She died some years ago aged about 40. For the last 10 years Janina Frostell has been THE daydream of every Finnish male. She's one of Finland's top models. I thought that in her case you might like to see the back of the cd, too. Last edited by PoloMintGuy; March 13th, 2023 at 10:26 PM.. Reason: Removed dead image |

Welcome back, sohtatexas. And thanks, it's nice to hear that my little record collection brings joy to so many. Here's a little something for all:
Weren't any Dolly covers posted yet? I'm sorry the back isn't in better condition. I bought this second-hand. European version of this great cover: Susanna on bed, as the title says: |

Thanks once again, sohtatexas.
I know I sometimes post weird ones that hardly anyone outside Finland knows. In some cases I just want to sound like an expert That's why I add brief comments about the artists and/or covers. The following two are from the late 1980's. At the time Brigitte Nielsen was Mrs. Sylvester Stallone, and Sinitta one of Stock-Aitken-Waterman's wonders. You probably remember Toy Boy... I'll look for "new" gems for you all! |

Disco divas!
Here's some vintage disco divas from the 1970's.
Amii Stewart is probably best known for her version of Knock On Wood. Paradise Bird is a bit later offering (from 1979). Gatefold sleeve Donna Summer had her biggest hits in the late 1970's & early 1980's. Bad Girls was released in 1979, The Wanderer in 1980. |
