Anybody heard from the Scousers end?


Feedback coming thru from Spurs tonight, that Thomas Cook has cancelled it's 2000 flights to Madrid. Leaving them all to try and franticly make other arrangements.

Liverpool fans will be flying with Thomas Cook too????

I saw on the news when both sides qualified for the final that a lot of Liverpool fans were none too happy as TC upped the prices on the second batch of flights, so believe both supporters are in the same boat.

Most of the stories today on TC is if they are to survive selling the airline will be essential.

Update on the Thomas Cook issue. Somebody THEIR end pressed the wrong button!!! So they told hundreds of fans that they were are unsuccessful while they actually were??? If you understand that, they didn't!!!



But some tossers have been banned for selling their tickets on for four figure sums!!! Good job!! as I said earlier I paid £154 for a ticket I never thought I would have to buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!



Happy days, but we're still gonna lose, although I went out with some of my long time school mates tonight who were mostly West Ham fans and they said it's written in the stars for Spurs?

Well we the fans kept our end up at The Green Man. I would liked to have left when the third went in but hey ho. We've done this all season. Played well against the top six but mentally collapsed after the first has gone in and conceded a second soon after. Then chasing the game was suicidal.

Then again it highlights what a mockery Manchester City have made of the game and indeed the elite in Europe. Bayern win the title again in Germany, Juventus in Italy, PSG most akin to Manchester City have turned Ligue Une into a farce.

What can any team do when a team can field £230M of substitutes on the bench and not even play Aguero. Every season that has passed the playing field has become tilted more and more in favour of the top six. In the last twenty PL seasons the top three spots have been occupied barring Leicester the same group of teams and even Liverpool and Tottenham have only just forced their way in, in recent seasons.

Yes in the past teams did try and bankroll their way to titles. Blackburn but under a local owner. Everton in the sixties, Sunderland the Bank of England club in the thirties. But the financial disparities were much smaller and any team with a good manager and scouting and local set up could force their way in. Huddersfield under Chapman, Derby under Clough, Ipswich under Robson. Not a chance of that now.

Many fans of clubs outside of the top six thoroughly dislike them particularly Manchester City and many have commented if Watford cannot even remotely compete in a final what chance have we got of silverware ? None is the answer.

More revenue to the top six from the overseas TV rights. More hoovering up of any talent that comes along. We had signed Joao Pedro at Fluminense with a view to bringing him over in January next year but his form apparently has Liverpool trying to gazump us.

What is the point then of club football ? Every team outside of the top six visiting the Emptyhad decides to shut up shop and limit the damage. It is hardly an appealing sight. In retrospect Leicester winning their title might have been the worst thing to happen because all it did was make the top six aside from Tottenham spend even more.

More and more my interest passes to international football. And plenty to look forward to as well. The u20 WC already underway in Poland minus Brazil, Germany, England and Holland who all failed to qualify with the u17 event in Brazil in September after they have hosted the Copa America.

Also the ACON begins soon. All tournaments worth while watching for see who is up and coming and a guide to the progress of teams before the next corruption bash in Qatar.

It's easy for me to pontificate, cos I'm off to Madrid.
But I've said in this thread before, I much prefer to watch (and I do watch) Mansfield, Dagenham & Redbridge and Barking. 22 blokes who give 100% and get paid F*** All. But at least you can assimilate to the players!!!

My Gooner mate said to me this week, 'He can't associate himself with all the Arse foreigners. He said at least Spurs have the two Harrys of their own and countless other young England players!!!!
